Default Not done if we want playoff seed

If we want a playoff seed then I think we are not done after Marion. With a backcourt cluster of Jose, Ukic, Soloman, Marion, Joey, Kapono, AP, Banks, some one has to be moved. Banks maybe harder to move but Kapono or AP are more realistic. Joey has shown improvement and I think he should be part of the future and Marion's contract should be played out for next offseason whether or not we re-sign him.

We got the expiring contract of Marion's so now I think whatever happens will happen next summer

We've got a pretty significant logjam at the 1/2/3 spots and there are definitely a couple movable pieces. Joey (though I think they'll continue to ride him out), AP and Kapono I think are all expendable. Throw in a filler like Solomon and you can get a serviceable big or even just a solid two guard. I wouldn't be surprised to see something happen before the deadline. Then again I also wouldn't be surprised if BC doesn't do anything at all. Who knows.

we're not making the playoffs this year but hopefully a few more deals will be done before the deadline.

I want Kapono, AP, Solomon, and Voshkhul gone.

WHY?

Voskhul does exactly what's needed of him. He earns nothing in return. AP's got an amazing contract and he's our starting 2 plus emergency 1. And you want to get rid of him? For what, dare I ask?

I still say that one of AP/JK + Filler will be gone next week.

Expiring contracts:

AP
Graham (team option)
Solomon
Jawai

I'm not that optimistic. I can't see anyone biting on Kapono's contract.
Jawai won't get dealt. The only way AP or Graham get dealt is if BC is offered a sweetheart deal.

You'd rather have Chuckfino than Parker? Seriously?

A lot of you guys speak of Delfino like he's some sort of saviour..

Neither of them is a saviour, period. AP is nearly done. And if you can get someone here to help our depth, then bring Carlos back, i'm in for that. Hell if BC likes AP that much he can re-sign him in July for less money to come off the bench.

I'm taking that you mean AP is nearly done as in his contract is nearly done, because if you said he was nearly done in terms of his playing career, I'd have to disagree with you. I think AP has a few more years left in the tank.

If you trade a guy like AP, what incentive does he have to come back and take a paycut? That's not logical thinking, bud.

I don't want Delfino back. At least not this year.

Should consider the Tony Allen, Scalabrini and a 1st(or Walker) for Kapsand Solomon deal reported from Boston.

Jose/Ukic/Banks
AP/Allen/Walker
Marion/Joey/Walker
Bosh/Scalabrini
Bargs/Voskul

OR mabey even an Evans and Green for Kaps and Solomon

Jose/Ukic/Banks
AP/Green
Marion/Joey
Bosh/Evans
Bargs/Voskul

He has a few more years in the tank, but that tank is half empty.

LINK?

I hate Scalabrine, but I do like Tony Allen's game. And I think Bill Walker is a player.

Evans and Green?

You're looking at these deals though Raptors coloured glasses.

So, you'd rather deal the guy who's the best defender, plays multiple positions and is consistent.. for what? To bring back Delfino?

Consider this deal: Boston sends Brian Scalabrine (who has one year remaining on his contract), Eddie House (who has a player option for 2009-10) and a conditional draft pick to Toronto for Kapono. The trade frees the Raptors from Kapono's contract (which runs through the '10-11 season) and gives them coveted cap space to re-sign Chris Bosh in '10 and acquire some talent to play around him.
It was Eddie House not Allen I guess but I think the Raps could get Allen instead if they really pursued it.

Consistent? Do you remember the first 2 months of the season when he was our worst starter except for maybe Moon. At some point and i say sooner rather then later that 2 months will become for good.He needs to be a bench player at this stage of his career going into next season (he'll be 35 at before the end of next season). I like AP but i know he's not part of our future and i like Delfino who is younger so.......

Neither is a saviour, but it's about preference!

I'd like any of those to go through but I think the second one seems better for us
