Nick Nurse might be headed to GS

That would really suck! :sigh:

I truly think our assistant staff carved out many wins this season. Watch out with Casey's decision making if the past 3 years haven't been any indication.

Dwane Casey kicks ass.

fantapoppa 05-17-2014 02:46 PM

Our offense wasn't really that amazing anyways.

How does this work? Does coach Nurse's contract expire this Summer or something?

Don't quote me on this, but I think all (or most) assistant coaches can void their contracts if a better opportunity comes along. They would want to be available for a head coaching job whenever possible. Another assistant job that offers a better opportunity is along those lines.

Kicks? Or kisses? I'd go with the last option. It would suck to lose Nurse. He's a big reason the team improved.

I assume you credit Nurse for improved offense. The same offense you heavily criticize?

If you are suggesting that Casey is kissing Masai's ass, would you also conclude then that Masai is a problem?

It would suck to lose Nurse. I was very impressed with how the entire team operated. I think he might just be convinced to stay.

Bring back Jay Triano, say what you wish about him, but he is a good offensive coach

I think Nurse and Bayno brought a lot to the table. The problem was Casey was the top of the food chain and seemed to refuse to adapt. Whomever was responsible to inbounding plays should be let go. They didn't find anything that worked all year. Disgraceful. I saw "looks" between Casey and Nurse which indicated to me some tension. I can't verify that but it's my opinion. It will be telling if Nurse moves on. For me we take two steps back if that happens. Not only was he key in player development, but it will be an indication to me that a good basketball guy wants out from the Casey umbrella.

If he could stomach taking an assistant coach position here after being head coach, certainly. He's exactly what we're lacking, a great X's and O's guy.

I would love Triano back as an assistant coach as well. Good call.

I'm sure we could offer him a lot of $, and he likes the organization (hopefully)

Triano was downright terrible. He was billed as a coach that would help young players and can't attribute any success to him for that.
