Default Next Offseason

Here are the free agents for next offseason. Given an improved record but not a playoff spot (I'm thinking ninth or tenth). Which free agents do you think it would be worthwhile to pursue to improve the team. Keep in mind Jose, DeMar, Linas and Ed are all FAs.

For me I can see us going after KMart (depending on DeMar's performance), Josh Smith (We could throw near the max at him), David West (Another year after surgery and could finally end our plethora of power forwards), and much the same could be said for Millsap or Al Jeff (who I think would be deadly with Lowry).

Throw the max at Harden, re-sign Jose and call it at that.:cookie:

Linas is not a free agent. Neither will Ed be. We will have roughly 5 to 7 million dollars in cap space. We could amnesty Amir to free up close to max room, but not quite. Trades of course could change things.

For now, though, any improvement is more likely to come from the MLE or trades than a big cap space signing.

If only Kyle Lowry could have saved All Jefferson's career sooner!

KMart? That guy sucks..... Houston had him and so many guys and still did nothing..... he's just not that good.

Aren't we at the cap right now with Jose's contract (10Mil) coming off the books next season? Wouldn't that mean 10Mil in capspace. Plus if we don't pick up Lucas III contract for the 2nd year.

What if Jose reverts back to the previous couple years prior to this year when most were frustrated by him. What if he continues to have injury issues? What if Lowry has a great season and Jose doesn't want to be a backup, why wouldn't he go somewhere else to start? What is Jose worth, 6Mil ish? Harden won't come here for max $$ when he'll have other offers in the US for the same $$.

Players I'd want us to at least go after: Harden, Evans, K. Leonard, P. George, Iguodala, Ellis, D. Williams, Teague, Morrow

What if Lowry was a fluke last year? What if he reverts back to the middling PG he looked like in his first few years? What if we took away all of your post count? What if I was a little bit taller?

Agreed, but Lowry has been getting better the last two years. With our luck though he'll stink. We'll then re-sign Jose and he'll blowout his knee. As a Raptor fan you never know what can happen. I do think Jose needs a change as do we. One thing is for sure the next 6 months will be interesting.

Go ahead, take away my post count. I don't give a flying fuck.

Just wait until we go through our first 4 or 5 game losing streak... then these types of discussions will REALLY pick up (and Tank Nation will rear it's ugly head again lol).

i do wonder what Serge Ibaka's fate will be given that the Thunder will have to start making some serious budget decisions between him and Harden. Didn't the Thunder draft some Euro stud to play the 4?

Ibaka could be a possibility for us, and I don't think he'd command the max...well...at least he's not worth the max. I'd throw 10 million at Ibaka and force the Thunder to make a move. If you get him you get him. Trade Bargnizzle for a SF and you have a very, very solid squad.

Would anybody consider taking a run at Bynum and trading Jonas for an impact wing?

It's too late for that. Just trade Ed and DD for an impact wing.
