New starting PG?

So far I'm not impressed with the Raptors. Hopefully it will get better later during the season. The 2 main concerns in my opinion is Dwane Casey's decisions during the 4th quarter and Kyle Lowry. By only looking at the latter, Kyle Lowry has not been so impressive last season and this season. He always shoots 3's even when closely defended and often turns over the ball. The Raptors need a point guard that can distribute the ball properly, make plays for JV and open up for Gay/Derozan and even Novak cause the team is desperately in need of solid 3 point shooters.

If Masai Ujiri decides to do something about the point guard situation, then he could trade away Lowry for a better shooter and playmaker such as Jameer Nelson, JJ Barea or even Luke Ridnour.

What do you guys think? Should MU trade Kyle Lowry this season?

Can we get a new starting SF while we're at it? New SG?

KoolAid 11-19-2013 04:18 PM

JJ Barea and Ridnour are much worse than Lowry.

Are you saying KL is not a top 10 nba pg?
lol

ZanTheMan 11-19-2013 04:53 PM

Let's just fire Casey first and go from there....

Would you trade Rudy Gay or Demar Derozan?

trade them both for Matthews and Batum!

halphbreedballer 11-19-2013 07:07 PM

A better back up PG is more needed. Were probably getting 2-3 points out of the back up pg spot & like 1 assist.

I would, yes. More than once if I could!

There aren't too many point guards who get to the level of being a year after year starter in the NBA, and I think we're seeing so far that K-Low probably can't get to that level.

He could be a very solid back up though.

Nyall 11-19-2013 09:54 PM

Kyle Lowry is not even a top 20 PG in this league. The only reason he has the numbers he puts up is cuz our offensive system is shit and allows him to to do whatever the fuck he wants. With a real coach, his inefficient playing style would land him on the bench.

bjjs 11-19-2013 10:11 PM

I just don't think he has the quickness to break teams down and get easy buckets often enough to be a mainstay at the starting spot.

I love that KL fanboys make ridiculous claims about his ability and attack posters that disagree and when they've been proven wrong they decide instead of accepting the ridicule that they so readily dish out they cry about it. Lol

Bazinga 11-19-2013 10:16 PM

Not u Nyall,
I mean the hypocritical jerks.

Dude. We get it. If you don't show that you can contribute more than the same barbs about Lowry and his fanboys, then you are going to find yourself not contributing at all.

When I first posted I was personally attacked by idiots that seem to equate # of posts to basketball knowledge. Seems like they don't like it when it happens to them. Maybe they should be a little more respectful when replying or get used to people responding in kind.

What is going through some people's minds? You have a coach that is trying to slow the game down for defensive purposes, but they bitch, when the PG (supposed to be an extension of the coach) plays according to the coach's game plan, but that style of play doesn't fit their idea of how a PG should play. Never mind that that's how the coach is asking him to play to fit the system. Fish don't give milk, and cows can't flap their fins.
