Default New Rivalry?

The Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors have battled out the last couple of seasons with close results. Is it safe to consider them one of the Toronto Raptors main rivals?

Not really...they always somehow have a couple new players every time we face them.

Boston and Orlando are real rivals. Maybe even Miami?

We need to keep getting in the playoffs and play certain teams a few series to really get a hate on and have a real rivalry. If we play Orlando this year in the playoffs again they become our biggest rivalry imo.

Boston & NY have always been a bit of a regular season rivalry. Even though i doubt their fans or those teams themselves would agree. lol

Think rivalries are fluid depending on where the team is in the food chain.
Washington is at near the bottom so really can't truely be considered rivals.
Right now our rivals are the 4 teams ahead of us and and the three behind us in the standings.
That can be narrowed down slightly to Boston, Orlando, Atlanta and Chicago.
I think we still have a minimal chance of overtaking one or more of those 3 and Chicago has an outside chance of catching us. Cleveland too far ahead and Miami ( has injuries ) and Charlotte too far behind to catch us.

I think if we meet Orlando in the playoffs we could build a good rivalry especially with Bosh vs Dwight.

If we were to meet Boston in the playoffs it would be an interesting series to say the least, they're already our regular season rival to a degree but a playoff series would bring it to another level.
