this is nothing new. European sports support and fan 'role' is hugely different than how it is over here. It's also like this for pretty much all team sports in Europe. the differences stem down to the target audiences. North American sports is more about making a family friendly atmosphere. Same can't be said for arenas or stadiums in Europe.

True. But that's not that different from Leafs fans/the media in Toronto for all sports. It's just done verbally and mentally. Notice the ever receding hairline of Ron Wilson?
