Default New era for the Raps.

After yesterday's draft, and some of BC's comments, I'm 99.9% sure Bosh is leaving. and this makes me happy. I can't wait to spread out our offense with more ball movement and revolving around Bargnani/Demar/few other pieces coming in (cause apparentaly teams are calling in and want our players instead of high-volume jump shooting Bosh. I think we're looking good defensively. Actually I can't say that until Calderon is no longer our starting point guard. I think our major need to address is a guy who can create in the fourth quarter (obviously).

I feel like BC has some dirty trades to pull out of his sleeve based on his press conference yesterday.

Most importantly though, we can move forward without Bosh, instead of trying to match his standards for the next 6 years.

Do you guys like the direction we're headed? I love it.

I hope we can get rid of the bad contracts we have too then I'll like it. I surely hope Bosh isn't back either. That would be too much money on one player. Instead now we can develop young players and try to go ahead with that. Hopefully Raps will be exciting team to watch this year with some D too

i love the new direction, if Bosh leaves.
but, i need to think we need to keept this time, a young and energic team to create a long term team.

on only 15 years, the Raptors have change 8 times of direction, so i don't know if this one, will be more victorious.

but i agree, our actual point - forword are not so bad (johnson, Bargs and davis), we need a good C (alabi give him 3 or 4 years) and a clear PG (not 2 we run the same play or so)

Ya I hear you. I was done with Bosh a long time ago. Not that he is a bad player but because the team wasn't set up to be playoff competitive. The young kids are nice but this team isn't going to go anywhere until it lands a star. We all have to be satisfied for the fact the team will problably hit the lottery for the next couple years and hope gold is struck. THis is the only way I personally think the light at the end of the tunnell can be met and I'm willing to wait.

I love the direction, especially if BC can upgrade the PG/SF positions via Bosh/Hedo/Jose/expirings/MLE??

Lol you don't quite hear me....

I wouldn't "love" it if i thought we would be in the lottery the next 2 years. I'm pretty impatient.

I actually think we're gonna be good.

I'm starting to get a feeling that our "bad" contracts aren't all that bad...BC has quoted that there were about 10 trades on the board and people really want our players...I think he's waiting for the best possible value. We could be pleasantly surprised

if i can say something else...

i have fun this year watch this team... i have waited along every game to see our young guns make the light and take the monn... and some times, few times, i see an shine fire in the dark... johnson, weens, derozan and JJ and wait for see them play again together and show an other face of the Raptors (without bosh) unlike in the final games of last season.

and with new young guys who complete the team, i think we need a captain who want really wins and not be the star...

I think the team really comes down to, can BC get a significant return on Bosh? With just this lineup:

Jose/Jack
Dero/Weems
Hedo?/?
Amir/Davis
Bargs/Alabi

Raps are a low lottery team next year.

Personally I like all the moves BC made yesterday and I hope this is the precursor to complete rebuilding we need when Bosh leaves (Good luck to CB4 always been a good guy). If we can get rid of 2 of the 3 big contracts remaining (Turk and Calderon more preferably).

Still with Bosh gone I see nobody on this roster who can step and be the go-to scorer when we badly need a basket. Hopefully BC just trys to get rid of the big contracts and completely rebuild.

Yeah im all for it.

I mean look at the OKC Thunder, They have lived through the Draft, Aquiring guys like Durant, Green, White, Westbrook + Serge Ibaka (who they let play overseas for a year)

All those guys are "The Core" to that Team, They had pretty rough seasons before those guys came in, but they are reaping the Benefits right now. They won 50 games last season + Took the Lakers to 7 games which is Damn impressive for the Youngest team in the NBA

If Bosh does leave then I agree go into complete Rebuild mode.

Get Turk, Calderon + Evans off the books and Completley start from the ground. We have 2 nice guards in Weems + Derozan + add the fact we have just Drafted Ed Davis, To go along with Andrea Bargnani + Jarret Jack (I would trade Andrea for a Legitimate Center)

We also are going to be resigning Amir Johnson (fingers crossed) which is a BIG Boost for this team, Try and bring in a Top Notch Defender for Turk + Evans and we will be on the right track

We may have bad seasons in the process but If we are right there in the Draft then i see no reason why we cant be like the OKC Thunder who have had so much success from the Draft

So Bosh leaving may pay dividens for our Franchise + The Future

Losing another superstar and going through the dark days again isnt going to be fun. So no I'm not looking forward to any kind of new era and I'm hoping BC pulls off a miracle in retaining Bosh and actually building a good team around him with non euro pieces of shit.

Anyone looking forward to the Bargs Era is insane. This team is going to have to get extraordinarily lucky to have a player of Bosh's caliber in the near future. Its going to be a long time before this team contends without Bosh. Sure, we might be able to assemble a 50 win team of roleplayers and tier 2/3 stars, but championships are not won without superstars and we aren't going to have one (yeah yeah I know about the Pistons).

Everyone makes it sound like its so easy to just pickup superstars in the lottery... OKC has done a great job but they got lucky as hell in the 07 draft. Most iterations of history would have them with Corey Brewer or Yi Jianlian instead of Durant.

I'd be happy if we could replace Bargnani with Scola.
