Nets Have Talks For Bargnani, Diaw, Barbosa

The Nets have made some cursory inquiries with Phoenix (about Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa), more substantive discussions with Toronto (about Andrea Bargnani), and there has been some dialogue with Denver about Carmelo Anthony.

Though one Nets official claims that "other conversations have a much better chance of fruition" than the Anthony discussions.

HAHAHAHA So true!

Bargnani & Ford for Darrell Armstrong (probably going to retire) and Keith Van Horn (hasn't signed his retirement papers)

Maybe that won't happen cause BC isn't a Bab-cock!

A league executive said Thursday that Andrea Bargnani of the Toronto Raptors has never been discussed in any conversations with the Nets.

There was a report on Tuesday that said the two sides had discussed a trade

BC did trade Kidd to them.

I say again - Ford, Rasho and whoever for as much of Diop, Harris and Jefferson they can get. I know Harris just adds another point guard, but I think he could play a Pargo role. Anyway - that's the only deal with the Nets I can stomach.

Unless that "whoever" is Bosh I don't see how that deal is fair for the Nets or how they benefit from just getting Ford and Rasho and losing Harris and RJ.

You gotta switch Harris with someone though. The whole point to separate Forderon is so the remaining one gets a starting position, and by getting another PG, that just makes the job more difficult.

Well LX might of added Harris to the mix because he hears the trade rumours and ones even involving him. So ya never know, they might looking for a new PG after all.

The team has been linked to the Nuggets in a rumored deal that would bring Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby to town for an undisclosed package.

"I heard some rumors. I'm curious. You've got to figure we're going to do something, whether it's a big monster deal or changing some of our role players," Harris said. "I think it's more retooling, but it is the NBA, things happen every summer."

The Nets would be stupid to make a trade for Anthony. Now you want to talk about a loser? That dude is a loser. And the Nets would be giving up a PG on the brink of a breakout year + draft pick + a scorer in Jefferson for a problem child in Anthony and a good but soon to be declining centre in Camby. Oh well, if they want to fuck up their future like that, let 'em. If I was in the Nugs front office, I would take that deal and RUN.

Yeah, I laugh in the general direction of a Carter-Anthony-Camby trio. It'd be funny though to see all the sportscasts getting hyped up about those 3 becoming the new Celtics, and then watching as Carter is injured for half the season, Camby declines in production, and Anthony whines like a little bitch while they get a 6-9 seed.
