That would be a bad precedent to set. There would be re-dos on re-dos.
Not really, maybe the reason for re-playing the game is different but re-playing the game is re-playing the game and they've already done that for less which proves ultimately it can be done.

They won't do it because it comes largely down to gambling and how it effects betting results. The NBA like most other pro sports leagues/organizations have business partners. We know about network(Espn,Abc,etc..),sponsored(Nike,McDonalds,K ia,etc..) but the largest & most influencial partner is Las Vegas, which isn't publicized or promoted. The NBA doesn't allowing betting on its league except for there.

The best way to start dealing with this problem is by having a challenge system. Maybe give a coach 2 challenges for the year or something.

You guys really don't get it.

There is constant contact between players in basketball. Where is the line drawn?

The rules are open to interpretation and highly subjective. Same with football and that's why many of those rules aren't reviewable.

You can't review contact. It would be ridiculous. Do they review the screen set to get Bargnani open prior to him getting the shot?

Fouls imo, are for the most part technique driven. Did the defender use good technique. Did the offensive player use good technique. Under review, are they now supposed to ignore technique and look at the literal translation of the rules?

Pass Interference, Holding - Technique driven - not reviewable.

It's a ridiculous notion to review a foul call / no-call. It would ruin the game.

I completely understand and you've made great points. Its just frustrating to see something like this happen without further steps taken to correct mistakes. We know the Refs aren't perfect and will miss things but how do you really know they aren't being biased? That's why I hate the whole "superstar" calls stuff, whatever happened to the rules? Again,it just leads me to beleive me they're more concerned with the whole business of the game, promoting popular players and teams. If that was Dirk I guarantee you they wouldn't miss that call!

we always look so disorganized and panicked at the end of games... Triano was actually decent at getting good looks. Sucks that Bargnani didn't get the call after the 30 seconds of scrambling, and that a rookie got the benefit of the ref instead, but maybe there was just too much squawking about tanking in years past that the refs are finally trying to help us.

this statement put out just seems like the a convenient way for the nba to make it appear that they have nothing to do with the refs and their bias against the Canadian team, by putting this out its their attempt to "criticize" the refs and hence are "not related" to the refs and their calls, which is complete BS
especially since it appears to just be a cheap statement with no apparent punishment given to anyone or any group
