In that game it didn't even have a significant impact on the outcome but they still replayed it. If the NBA has any integrity, they'll let these two teams play out the free throws and final seconds before their next meeting in Charlotte. That's fair to me.
I remember that - so there's precedent, so they should have the 2 teams replay the last 1 minute.

Entirely different situations. No precedent for redoing a game because of a no-call.

That would be a bad precedent to set. There would be re-dos on re-dos.

Why can't the refs simply go back and review the last play right after it happens?

What this, hopefully, does is making sure that the next group of refs takes extra care during the Raps' game. Also validates the other thread we've been having.

Because it would ruin the sport

Nah, it won't, especially considering that a provision exists for reviewing arguable calls at the end of quarters. They didn't do it for the Raps because "they don't respect" the Raps. And since this is a professional sports league and not a gang in the 'hood or a prison yard, it could be fixed, I hope.

And upholding blatantly erroneous calls somehow preserves the integrity of the sport?

The NFL and the WTA have it right with their "challenge" system in place... and BOTH sports are the better for it now.

You can't challenge a holding or pass interference penalty.

i dont know if you guys caught the BKN-LAL game but the refs called a foul on BKN with 0.2 seconds left when LAL was up 3 and had the win in the books. Kobe makes 2 free throws and they win by five. Don't know what the point-spread was but all I could think was, "Man, i guess they wanna cover the Lakers spread or some shit".
