Default nba league pass broadband

I just got the 99$ plan (NBA broadband pass). I'm in Vancouver and wanted to watch the raptors. To my horror, I found out that almost every one of their games are blocked. I thought it wouldn't be so, since I'm not in the GTA or Ontario for that matter. Does anyone know how to get around their stupid blocking?? I can't even cancel the damn thing now.

Couldn't you call in to cancel your membership? If you can't that is some pretty shady stuff from the NBA.

Hey, dude, sorry to hear that. When I used the free trial run with NBA broadband I was super choked to find out that I couldn't watch certain Raps games. Okay, to my knowledge, the reason you're being blocked is because the games are televised on a network that is considered to be "local" by NBA broadband pass. That is, the games are televised on an available Canadian network TSN2...etc. So, as far as NBA broadband is concerned, it doesn't matter that you live outside of the GTA; this is an issue of NBA broadband trying to avoid stepping on cable companies' toes.

The solution to your problem would probably be masking your IP address. I don't know if that's the right terminology. Basically what I am saying is that you need to use a 3rd party internet provider to some how fool NBA broadband into thinking that you aren't operating your computer from Canada. I know that people do this for other purposes, but I don't know exactly how it is done. Somebody who is more computer savy will have to fill you in on how you can do that. For now, you might want to do some searches on line to see if there is information on how to "mask" or "hide" your IP address through a 3rd party. Again, I might be using the wrong terminology, so sorry about that.

your right on the money armchair...

you have to hide your ip address so that the nba league pass website dont know where your located...i use it all the time to watch videos on american websites like fox and nbc...

some of the websites i use:
you just type in the link on the website
Hide My Ass! Free Proxy and Privacy Tools - Surf The Web Anonymously
Online Anonymous Proxy
http://www.youhide.com/

you can google "anonymous proxy" and it will come up with a bunch of them...

hope it helps
