Default NBA Going Back To Vancouver????

I saw it on Sportsnet tonight there is a rumor that the NBA is going to give Vancouver a second chance...Memphis is doing sooo Bad.

That would be awsome the more Canadian Teams the better.

i highly doubt that, but it would be great to get another team in canada. maybe they can get yao or yi... that would pack the stands, that's for sure.

The Grizzlies trading Gasol made that happen.

If we trade Bosh... maybe the Raps will move to Vancouver lol.

They had no fan support with Pau either.

As much as it pains me to say it VC saved our franchise years ago I gave all of us hope because without him we could have been in the same position as Vancouver after all those players wanted out of Toronto...

We now watch the Raptors looking for that magic & hoping for a great player...Great team.

Vancouver Deserves another chance...but they gotta do it better this time if they get another chance.

If the Griz had been the team that ended up with Vince, Toronto would be the city begging for a franchise.

I'm not getting even the slightest bit optimistic until I see a source. Even then I'll move forward cautiously.

well then u can go back and tell them to trade a pick and a scrub and get Bosh

It makes alot of sense tho, u are a disgruntled griz fan, you know you way around scaring players and teams outta cities and how to make horrible drafts and trades to ruin your dwindling fanbase. No voodoo magic here plz.

Can you tell us more about what exactly was said? Was it just someone's opinion, or did that person say how he got that information (sources within NBA)???

I strongly believe that if the Grizzlies were to return to Vancouver, they would have A LOT more support than what they had prior to moving to Memphis.

The lease agreement that the Grizzlies have with the Fedex forum makes it literally impossible for them to move. IIRC they have a very blunt clause stating that the team cannot relocate until 2015.

IF Vancouver's going to get a team, the Pacers are the only realistic candidate and even that's a bit of a long shot. The Kings might also be an option if the Maloofs are open to selling, but i haven't heard anything to suggest that.

The Pacers thats crazy, moving them is like moving the chicago blackhawks, Indiania is basketball country, if they take losses for the next 50 years the nba still will have a franchise there, they just have to rebuild right and the fans will come, look at the blackhawks now 5000 season ticket holders to sell outs and tough tickets to get because of toews and kane, indiania needs to follow that model which Danny Granger helps

by the way if the Grizz come back i'm geting season tickets straight up, I'm with MVP split in half, I would have to where my raps gear whenever they come into town, it would be sweet if they change some of the rules and let the raps play van four times a year, cross country rivalry would help both teams in the ticket department and would allow the raps to get 4 wins

The Grizz have to file bankruptcy for any chance to leave, sort of like what the Coyotes are doing now.

I would like to see a team in Vancouver but I know its highly unlikely
KC, LV and Seattle (if they get a new arena) are in consideration before VC

Vancouver can support a team and I thought it was poor judgment all around in moving them. I would like to see a source to somewhat confirm this "rumor" about them getting a second chance though. There are a lot of teams hurting right now, losing money. Half the league took the loan money this year to stay afloat and pay the bills. Owners are/will be looking to sell. This rumor is plausible, especially right now in this environment. The West coast of Canada is really strong, far stronger than most states in the U.S. Finding a strong ownership group in Vancouver would not be difficult.

I thought Vancouver's unemployment was the higher among the major cities

The Grizzlies were already in the process of moving to Memphis when Gasol was chosen. He never played in Vancouver.

Heisley fucking over the city of Vancouver and its fanbase and the fact that the entire team was run poorly fucked over the Grizzlies. Had they made ONE correct draft pick, just one, they'd still be playing. Look at what choosing Vince Carter did for us.
