Default NBA Exec: "Charlie V had better basketball instincts than Bosh."

It's a shame that CV isn't strong mentally. God knows where he'd be at if he was.

A moment later Jamario made a gorgeous cut off of Bosh in the post again but Chris hit him in the shoulder with a pass, costing Toronto another sure dunk. I'm not suggesting Charlie V is better than Bosh. Bosh is stronger, tougher and about 20 times more focused. He's just a bit mechanical. He excels when the game is predictable and he can work through his options on offense. He's got loads of hard-earned skill -- great shooter, good footwork, improved right hand, very underrated dribbler. I'm just not sure the the game comes as easily to him as some others. This is not a bad thing, necessarily. If it came so easily why woud he put the time in to develop all that skill?

That's the problem - Charlie is lazy. Unfocused. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you can't bring it on a consistent basis, it dont mean shit. it's what seperates okay from really good.

I totally agree with Grange. Chris wasn't born with the amazing talent, he's a hardworker. I like to compare Chris' ability to a student doing math. There's people who get it right away and others need to constantly practice.

Grange is dead on. Bosh doesn't have ""MVP"" instincts. Charlie far surpassed him there

IE: Defence(Boshs D probably worst of those who matter on the team)
Passing skills( second to only Parker for worst)
Stupid 3 pointers (worst)

But he does have mental strength which makes him an all star and Charlie won't get there unless he develops same mental attitude

I have to interject there, Moon is the worst at the 3 pointers.

I still lament that trade to this day.... esp. considering the fact that we have Bargs (another 4-man like CV) now.

CV is a gifted player... and he WANTED to stay in Toronto. It's a shame that we only got to see him for 1 season because who knows what steps he'd have taken in subsequent years with our squad?

Although the writer has a good point, I don't think he picked the right player to compare with. Charlie is smoother but he is not mentally strong enough to follow his capabilities ... on other hand, CB4 is stubbornly working to push himself towards greatness; his work ethic is unbelievable and he is not taking anything for granted. But CB4 is described well by this article and that's why he is not able to make plays at the end of meaningful games, with few seconds to go, one or two points down. CB4 will get you there like no one else, but then he is not able to finish. Raptors will not win a championship with Chris Bosh being the clutch scorer, he needs someone to be paired with which Raptors doesn't have at this time.

I'm still not sure that I believe that.

In 24 min/gm this season CV is avging 13 + 7... shooting 43% FG and 89% FT. That's pretty impressive.

If he was given the reigns to an offense like Bosh, Aldridge, D12 or any other young big I think he'd be capable of putting up 20 + 10. He's just had to play with ball-dominating guards for most of his time there in MIL.

I still like him.

i have no problem with charlie v, i'm sure he's capable of 20/10 if he got the minutes but i also think he'd get injured even more than he already is
the think that cb4 is good at is being efficient, less shots needed because of more drives
charlie v is smoother in his movements but lacks the consistent desire to play hard
cb4 always plays hard, he just has the ability to play even harder as in driving to the basket
and cb4's long body makes him more of a physical asset

I would agree that Charlie is a better passer, better long range shooter and craftier around the bucket, but he is also as lazy as they come.

Well remember he was traded for TJ and that year we won the division. Would CV have been able to bring us a division title? Not likely!!! He is also injury prone.

All this basketball instinct crap, very easy to throw around words that can't be quantified. By the way do we have a name for the NBA basketball exec?
