The Kyrie Irving freight train is picking up speed.

In a pool of draft boards, it is mainly the sites that do not update their boards regularly that do not have Irving going #1. Win the draft or he's gone. Even if I were Washington or Minnesota, I'd pick him 1st as best available. Even if you thought he could be a bust, you should be able to deal him before anyone figures that out.

Other notes:

- 1 of them actually has Valuncias going #2?

- There are basically only 7 guys that show up in the top 5 consistently

- How exactly do you guys feel about having Enes Kanter here?

Kanter was most dominant 1992 born player in the planet. Problem is, he dominated junior championships because of his strength, NBA has tougher guys and he can disappear. Also, his mysterious knees. Nobody really knows what exactly wrong with it, but everyone knows that his knees is an issue.
And who is Valuncias? Do you mean Valanciunas?

Yes, thanks for introducing us all to this man.

I honestly have no idea what to expect from him at this level.

Kanter never did played for Kentucky, he's not permitted.

He's obviously more of an unknown talent than Irving with the injury. That's what makes it hard to tell.

i'm having ajaujo flashbacks with kanter. i haven't seen enough of him to make a fair judgement, but i see the same things that made me think hoffa might be a good player in the when i watched him in college - big, good hands, good rebounder, nba body. does he have the quickness to play at the next level?

I don't care how good/bad Kanter is I'd solely stay away from him because of his knee issues, especially with the 5th overally pick when there are players as good if not better that don't have injury issues.

Like 'trane says, sounds an awful lot like Hoffa. Why are we even looking at big men? If BC drafts someone other than a 1 or a 3, all of Raptorland will be pissed....

you draft based on best available because the better the player, the better the asset and you can flip the draftee or someone u already had to fill a void in another position so any position could be drafted. however imo the least position to be worrying about is the pf, sg position.. even the pg position seeing how we have jose and next years draft looks to be stronger and filled with pg's

I want Jimmer if we can't get Irving personally. Nobody else I want too badly.

Is Kyrie Irving even the best guard on his team let alone the best in the draft? I really wonder that after watching last night.

To be fair he missed a lot of time and is coming back to a team that is used to playing without him. Can't expect them to change everything and let him dominate again.

Kyrie Irving game fits the NBA more then so Nolan Smith who you're talking about. Nolan Smith is a perfect college player and could be a good role player in the NBA.

The athletic ability between the two are so different. Kyrie with a lot and Nolan is not the least athletic player but not close to Irving(when healthy).

You're also comparing a Senior who has been healthy all year long to a freshman who missed 3months of basketball(and barely played with any of this team) and just got back from watching last night game. Watch earlier games in the year and see where Kyrie Irving was. His first step and speed to get to the hoop. Nolan Smith has great BB IQ and is a great college player but that doesn't and usually doesn't always make the best NBA player.

Look at Tyler Hansbrough from UNC. Stud at UNC, still drafted in first round, and a good role player in the NBA. That is where I can see Nolan Smith at the PG position becoming if drafted by the right team.

As Kyrie Irving has the talent and athletic ability to be one of better PG in the NBA. Also Kyrie Irving has the potential to get a lot better while people think Nolan Smith has peak and what you see now is what he will always be.

If you're in the Toronto area, you're not permitted to hate the Leafs, like I do. You must go to sleep in your blue and white jammies and dream only of 8th place.
