Default NBA Draft 2010

I know the Raps dont have a pick, but with some of the talent available in this years draft I think they should do all they can to get involved.

some serious talent available including:
Wall
Turner(love this guy)
AMinu
Cousins
Favors
Johnson
Whiteside

Just wondering what everyone thought about some of the young guys that are reportedly entering this years draft and their possible impact on the NBA.

DeMarcus Cousins may be my favourite pre-tournament player. Tall, athletic, physical, skilled - all the tools of a great big man. Dominant guy in college and will be dominant in the NBA.

I've also really enjoyed watching Whiteside play, another dominant big guy.

Cousins gets in foul trouble too much, one coach compared him to Shaq in his first year

COusins could be solid, but he has a bad attitude at times I read somewhere.
Whiteside is intriging as well.

I certainly wouldnt object to the team rebuilding in the offseason with the talent that is available in the draft. Turner and COusins would be fine with me or even Turner and Whiteside.

that Alabi kid from Florida State is a good defense center and so is Verando from Miss State, I think he's going to be the all time block leader

Evan Turner will be Joe Johnson 2.0 if he extends his range to the three point line. Turner is one of the smartest basketball players to come out of the draft in a while and he's already extremely versatile. Should be interesting to see what he can do in the NBA against more athletic defenders.

he's a better rebounder and plays good defense, has a good crossover too
becoming more patient and doesn't force his shots
his range does need to be worked on but thats the easiest thing to improve in the NBA
remember his team only plays a 6 man rotation of basically 4 SG's and 2 PF's

As a Buckeye fan and living in Columbus Ohio I get to watch every Ohio State game all year. Evan Turner is the best player in College Basketball this year. He can do it all. Score, rebound, get shots for other players, steals, blocks, D.

Like someone said he needs to work on his range. Not a 3pt shooter at all. Very weak there but his mid-range jumper is AUTOMATIC. Sweet right to left crossover that no one in CBB has figure to stop.

The player he is compare to a lot is Brandon Roy but a better re-bounder than him.

Turner can play the PG,SG, or SF positions. He just learn the PG position this off-season and is his first year starting at the PG season all year long.

Also good thing about ET is he is a good person. Never in trouble & very well spoken. Like someone else said is an smart kid. Doesn't have anything to do with his talent but always another +.

Lighty and Buford would be quality role players in the NBA

Lighty will end up being a steal in the late first or second round. He can put the ball in the basket.

Yep.

Buford is probably going to enter the draft this year also. Will be late first/early second most likely and can improve his NBA draft status with a great tourney. Buford has the best looking shot on the team. Very good shooter, and can get to the hoop, defense has improve(still weak point), improve his rebounding, and is more of a team player. A lot of people coming into the year said Buford would be the best Buckeye when all said and done on the team(That means better than ET). Will be a good late pickup for some team who needs a SG and can play him on the bench for a couple years.

I love watching David Lighty. He has potential and will probably come back to Ohio State for one more year and then be a 2nd round pick in next year draft. One of the better defense player in CBB. Also his shooting and offense has improve. In Big 10 play he is shooting 40% from 3. When he came into Ohio State he was an defense player with no offense. Now he is a defense player and talented offense player. There are games this season where you ask yourself why he can't do it all the time on the offense side of the ball. A lot of people compare him to Bruce Bowen without being a dirty type of player.

Only a Junior so he will probably be back at OSU next year. The only problem with David Lighty is he is very inconsistent on the offense side of the ball. Like I said there are times where he takes over the game and there are other games where he is MIA. But the great thing about Lighty is you know you're AT LEAST getting a very good defense player.

He has a lot of potential if he keeps improving his offense. Also the cool thing about Lighty is he can play the 1-4 spots in CBB. He is Ohio State starting PF this year at 6-5 225. SF in the NBA though.

Buford has a really high arcing shot, its goes above camera view when he shoots 3's

Lighty could be back at the SG spot since SF Thomas is coming from high school and Sullinger will be at PF

wonder who will play PG next year at Ohio State, maybe they convert Diebler into a PG

Some people think we should give Lighty a shot at PG next year. I don't think it's a good idea but if is anybody that is on the team now it would be Lighty. Diebler will stay at the SG position. He can't create his own shot or shots for other and is a really an good 3pt shooter so he has no other position he can play in my mind but SG. I wouldn't be surprise if they have Thomas come off the bench next year. They did that with Daquean Cook his only year here & Buford started his first 10 games or so coming off the bench before working his way up to the starting lineup.

Next year starting lineup will probably be like this for OSU:
PG: Smith or Craft(Both PG who will be True Freshman next year. Smith more of a Combo guard & Craft is more of an True PG. Both very talented).
SG: Diebler
SF: Lighty
PF: Sullinger
C: Lauderdale

or

PG: Lighty
SG: Diebler
SF: Thomas
PF: Sullinger
C: Lauderdale

That is IF Turner and Buford both go pro(which is what people think will happen - Turner 90% Buford 60/40 to go pro).
