NBA.com: Ranking Offseason Moves - Raps 25th

David Aldridge does his rankings this time regarding teams offseason transactions. Raptors come in at number 25.

KEY RE-SIGNINGS: G Jose Calderon

KEY LOSSES: G T.J. Ford, C Rasho Nesterovic, F Maceo Baston (traded to Indiana), C Roy Hibbert (draft rights traded to Indiana), G Carlos Delfino (UFA, signed with Khimki Moscow), C Jorge Garbajosa (UFA, signed with Khimki Moscow)

PROJECTION: If you think the oft-injured O'Neal has a lot left, the Raptors made a great trade. Pairing O'Neal and Chris Bosh down low gives Sam Mitchell a lethal inside presence, one that will pay off with open looks for the likes of Jason Kopono and Anthony Parker and Calderon and Andrea Bargnani, and make Toronto a force in the Eastern Conference.

If you don't think O'Neal has much left, the Raptors aren't going to do much better next season than they have the previous two-going out early in the playoffs-even though Calderon is ready to take over the point full-time and Toronto has shooters that many other teams would love to have.

The guess here is that O'Neal isn't the player he once was, but may not have to be playing alongside Olympian Bosh. And if Bargnani, the former first pick who took a noticeable and decided step backward in his second pro season, doesn't get back on track, whatever O'Neal has to give won't matter much anyway.

I wouldn't put them in 25th place at all.But i'm not impressed so far.JO was a good pick up and re-signing Jose was huge (that's a given). But the rest of the moves to me look shaky,at least that's my impressions so far.Soloman,Ukic,Adams haven't impressed me in the least and these are the players that may have to play major minutes if injuries occur.Scary!!.So while putting them 25th is crazy, i would probably place them barelly in the top 10 based on what i've seen so far.

I disagree.

wow.

they turned a disgruntled and oft poor playing me first Pg into the recently named best big man in the east (until the injury, which has ben fixed sufficiently), that alone is huge. What the hell were they supposed to do with no cash left over?

I'd say they did very well.

Who did better? Why?

Oh I forgot, Philly got brand, who, GASP, is JO west version.

Wow those rankings are... awful. Let me guess... he put the Sixers in the top 5... hmm #2. What a surprise. Clippers at #6? They are in a far worse position as a franchise coming into this year than last.

I can understand the Raptors not being in the top 10 if you believe they gave up too much depth for a possibly over the hill and injury prone player (I think JO Is going to be great), but 25th... wow.
