Default National Post: "Raptors are not a serious team"

... Ugh, a few crappy games and the media is back at it again. This time Bruce Arthur from the National Post is ripping the team, by calling out Bosh on whether or not he's all that and a "pack of Ding-Dong's".

Apart of me agrees with him, but not entirely. What do you guys think?

Chris Bosh is a great player in the making, but you can't even pencil him in on the all-star team this season. LeBron, meanwhile, is going to be on the short list for the MVP award for another decade or so. And that is the difference between getting the No. 1 pick in the 2003 draft, and the No. 4.

It's frustrating because this team is a MUCH better team than it shows. They've blown how many leads this year? It's like the team lacks heart, hustle, things like that. It's funny, because these are the same intangibles that a healthy Jorge Garbajosa brings.

I don't know what everyone thinks, but it feels as though this team took a step back this year. It could be the injuries, but it's time to address everything. The Cavs game would have shut up a lot of critics, especially with 2 very winnable games on the horizon with Philadelphia on Wednesday and New York on Friday. If one of those games are lost, it's time to make a move.

I'm also thinking that stamina is becoming a factor too Hoops. I mean since Ford went down we seem to be playing with a much shorter bench not to mention we're playing our two best players almost 40+ minutes per game in Bosh and Jose. They may not show it, but I bet anything the two of them are gassed at this point. And it doesn't help that neither Kapono or Delfino are off their games right now, because the fact that our 2nd unit has suddenly become ineffective frustrates me too.

But ya Hoops, I'd be happier than a pig in shit if we had or found players that played with the hustle and heart that Moon shows game in, game out. Not to mention try and find some toughness and guys that play with a "killer instinct".

I feel exactly the same way. I feel as though we're at the point where a shake up move would be a good thing. i don't want to say our players are soft... but they sure aren't playing very badass right now.

Oh, I'll say that they're soft. They're soft like Ron Jeremy after take 7.

Like it or not... Raps 2007/08 are a crappy team... they have more talent then last year but no personality or drive to win... could be because they are missing Garbo & TJ or could be that last year everybody was putting them down... who knows? All I see that Bosh, Parker & Bargnani are playing like retarded little brother of themselfs from a year ago...

We need to get rid of Sam Mitchell, this guys playbook is the size of a post it sticker. This guy has no smarts whatsoever and is not utilizing the team properly.

Or realize that lots of teams improved ten fold this season and our players aren't as strong as some want to believe. You can only play small ball for so long and until we have a consistant force in the post and the interior, teams will continue to exploit us.

That's a much more plausible and well thought out explanation than the one you quoted. We miss TJ and a healthy Garbajosa a lot more than many are willing to admit.

Well of course the raps miss them, nobody is denying that they dont. Injuries occur whether you like it or not but it is the coach's responsibility to bring the team together. It's his job to adapt to situations which clearly sam does not know how to do. A good coach should be able to construct plays that utilizes the teams strengths. I believe we still have a good team and a deep roster even without TJ and Garbo. This team has many strengths which are not being used properly. Sam is not a good coach plain and simple, the players are not the problem it is the coach. BC is amazing at what he does and has put on the floor a group of players that are capable of winning, Sam needs to go in order for this team to reach it's full potential.

BC choose Sam... so how does that fit? They are obviously on the same page somewhere or Sam would be gone...I think you're being overdramatic. Sam is still a young coach and learning but he's not destroying this team. A 500 record considering our schedule and the injuries we've had is actually not that bad. Missing Ford is like missing Nash in Phoenix...the team was built around his abilities... Careful how you interpret what i said...do it literally. BC built his team around a speedy little guard that can penetrate and kick, score and get to the line almost at will. Jose is great, but he's not that guy. They have to find another way to win with TJ out true, and that's the coaches deal true... but many of the games theyv'e been right there and it's been either a mental mistake or another big gun getting obscenely hot to take them down.

and comparing Bosh with lebron is unfair. Lebron is special player, the kind that appears only once a decade or so - Bosh is "just" another superstar. I would take Bosh over Carmelo any day, and melo was #3. And that's not even mentioning the #2 pick.
