Who wants a mid-30's point guard with a bad back. So we build around Nash? No way!

So we'll have 9 guys on the roster, injured players included? That makes sense.

LOL that really makes me think. That would be 4 out of 5 starters in the trade. I wonder when the last time something like that happened before.

As for the trade, it doesn't make sense for us anymore; not with the way Bargnani is playing.

Now, it seems like Bargs will give you 20/7 night in and night out.

Rookie mistake ... We trade players ready to enter in their best years (Jose and Andrea) + our role players for almost at end of career (Nash) and a player in his first year (Lopez) and a bench warmer (Barbosa). No way we give up so much for Nash.

Um.. Barbosa isn't exactly a BENCHWARMER!

NOT SAYING that I support this trade, but .. give Barbosa more slack than that.

1st of all, when Nash ends this nice 2010 contract of his, we'll have more room to sign players in the 2010 FA sweepstakes. 2nd, Barbosa is a 6th man. You can't say Manu Ginobili sucks because he's off the bench.. 3rd, Nash still has some in him. He'd fit perfectly with the situation right now. (Veteran leadership, nice contract, Jay Triano factor, and it's in Canada.) 4th. Hell to the no on this trade.

We already have $26 mil to sign FA in 2010, how much do you really want?
There is no need to hit the panic button, unless JO is traded Raptors risks all for short term success and jeopardize the future for years to came.

Thanks God you are not Raptors GM ... you take Knicks as example ... wow

1. Toronto is not NY to attract high profile FA
2. Toronto already has CB4 and the best chance to sign him.
3. Too many bidders are lining up for 2010 FA class ... we may have to overpay for the top ones.

If we sign Bosh, JO off the books and Bargs fully developed by 2010, with Jose at PG/ Roko backup PG with 2 years experience, the cap space to sign somebody like Joe Johnson would make Raptors a real good team.

How Raptors could deal for Nash

Steve Nash already has been talking about finishing his career (his contract expires in 2010) in New York or back home in Canada. Why not sooner? I've heard speculation about such a possibility around the NBA. It's an intriguing proposition. The Suns start to look beyond Shaq now with the idea of building around Amare Stoudemire. While the Raptors push to get back in serious playoff contention to try to persuade Chris Bosh to resign. Toronto reportedly has been anxious to trade, but really has little of great value. Here's the deal and while bold, it could respond to both teams' desires. Nash, Leandro Barbosa and Robin Lopez for Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker and Jason Kopono and perhaps Jamario Moon to equalize salaries.

Bargnani/Parker/Kapono/Calderon for Nash/Barbosa/Lopez
