Why is 12 million crazy but 10 not so? 2 million doesn't mean all that much in the big picture. If 12 M is what is needed to sign Nash, they'll be a little tighter on cap space, but not inordinately so. A home-country deal (7 or 8 M) might be nice for TO, and would clear up some nice cap space, but the difference between 10 and 12 is more an inconvenience than a disaster. There will still be some cap space to allow for imbalance trades, especially after signing Bayless to a reasonable contract.

This is who the Raps have signed for next season. Room for additions.

Not sure why you're bringing up the front court, Shenmui stated it would be stupid for the Raps to trade their pick - which is a SG for a vet (which I disagree) but then you stated something about a logjam and are now bringing up the front court - which has nothing to do with Ross - and even if it is, there is no logjam unless youre seeing all the Raps players as starters
Pretty sure he stated it would be stupid to now try and acquire the veterans being offered for #8 on draft night using other assets, which is what Wolstat said they were trying to do.

I think 10Mil would be the highest offer, why 12. This is what i meant by over reaching. Wouldn't be surprised if it's even higher. Hopefully if that's the number, that it's front loaded.

Who knows, KG is on the verge of 3 years 34mil so let's split the difference and go 11 per

That's also insane imo. He should be in the 3yrs/24-27Mil range imo. Nash is even older than KG.

Then again, the NBA player generally gets overpayed.

Top targets?

Makes it sound like we're going after Nash + a second FA (depth?), i can't see that player being Batum since we don't have the money for both.

Sure I can see what you're saying in the entire context. What I was saying is that's not what Shen was seeing and regardless there is no logjam on the team. Now when JV comes there still wont be at the 5 and when Acy signs meh, hes a bench warmer.

Sessions? Kinda hope so. 23mil not enough for both? Maybe it's not depth but back-up

I can see us offering 2013 1st, Davis or Amir, Kleiza + a 2nd for a veteran SF.

Only GM stupid enough to offer Bosh max, can offer Nash 36 in 3 without any chance of being a contender.
Nash might not even be good next season during his age. The risk of injuries increase as well. There's a chance he can break down totally by winter. Of course none of the Canadians want to let such thoughts into their heads.
Are you gonna watch Shaq's highlights from years ago and salivate over the possibility that he comes out of retirement to join us?
What about the best played out scenario with Nash in TO? Still isn't worth it.

If Nash signs with the Raptors it makes them instantly interesting and relevant as a team, even though they are not title contenders. Realistically, there are only a few real contenders for the title for the next few years (Heat, OKC, Bulls?). Nash would give the Raptors fans more wins and entertainment, and I think he would have a great impact on the young players' attitude and professionalism. He trains and plays the right way, and would counterbalance some of the immaturity of some of the Raptors.

Especially if another Vet is brought in as well. The balance could be a major difference.

Nash for 3 years @ 12 mil/year is completely insane. He won't likely play it out and, more importantly, this won't help the team long-term at all.

Who's immature? Bargnani is the least mature, in the sense that he's got his own agenda. Everyone else is fine. We've the least issue filled locker room.
