Nash to be set free?

Suns owner Robert Sarver admitted he could break up the team in the offseason during the Cavs/Suns game. There's speculation the Suns could use an early termination clause to release Steve Nash this summer and save $7 million on his '09-'10 wage. Nash would have to play for the $5.9 million mid-level exception.

Do you think its possible BC signs Nash?

Rumour has it Nash wants to play with D'Antoni in NY anyways. I don't see Colangelo pursuing Nash anytime soon.

If he wants to come here and play back-up minutes why not. But I would want Roko to develop and Nash would eat away at all of Roko's minutes

If Nash could be had with mle type money then without a doubt.

Anytime a team has the opportunity to add an MVP player, that team needs to do it.

I Marvel to think just how much a season or 2 of Nash could teach Jose.

If Nash were to come to Toronto
I think it would mean that Caldy would be traded for a 3 or 2

I assume if we did this we'd roll out Nash, Marion, Bosh, Bargnani, our lottery pick, and what we can get for Jose, and go for a "win now" move. Fuck me.

Not that we couldn't be solid, but without D'Antoni, an older Nash, and no Suns role players like Bell, Diaw, Thomas, etc., I'm not convinced.

I think this year has shown us that having a league worst defensive PG/league softest frontcourt is a BAD combination. It leads to constant penetration and because the frontcourt is soft, constant help, and no d.

Just blow it up, don't entertain this BC.

If BC trades Bosh for Amare Raps would truly be Suns East.

Sarver may be willing to revamp the team in the off-season (as he was prior to the trade deadline), but that doesn't mean Nash is moving anywhere. The whole Suns organization loves Nash and I don't think they're in a hurry to let him go, although financially it would make sense to not pick up his option and re-sign him at a lower salary. And Nash, of course, has said he's open to Pheonix, New York, and Toronto.

If he does get released, I really hope we don't sign him, unless there are a LOT of changes elsewhere on the roster to make him fit better.

knowing BC he will prob try, just get your dad to build a team and Mikey D to coach it BC, thats the answer!! You cant replicate something you for the most part only had a small hand in making.... but ppl seem to let him live off it.

You're looking at this wrong... two years of backing up and learning from Nash would be the best thing Roko could possibly have! Realistically Roko is 2 years away from being a starter anyways.

I was about to say the same thing, why does the source of all these rumors trace back to one of the NY tabloids!!

If true, Nash is released we should pursue him fiercely, re sign Marion and trade Jose for an up tear SG.

Nah, Nash would teach roko how to shoot and pass. Jose would be traded for someone that could create his own shot.

Well, he did say that he'd like to end his career here, right? So I guess it depends on how long of a contract we were offering, and whether it had a no-trade clause to his liking. Not to mention demonstrating that we are committed to improving our team. Somehow I don't think that money is the most important factor to him.
