Lakers do not own a first-round draft pick again until 2016. Their 2014 second round draft pick belongs to the Phoenix Suns, their 2015 first round draft pick belongs to the Suns, and their 2015 second round draft pick belongs to the Orlando Magic

like I said - Nash for LF and Novak. Would be unnecessary for both teams but raps would save some $. LAL get depth lol? MLSE gets a cashcow.

Nash is inspiring kids all across Canada to lie on the floor until their back spasms go away.

Alex Kennedy was the guy that said that toronto was interested in Nate Robinson.

If we had to find some means of losing Gay and his contact, then i could maybe see it. But this guy is pretty loose with speculating based on the slightest whispers. There's a long way to go before this is a serious consideration yet, i would guess.

This stinks of Hakeem Part 2.

Getting a player who's on his last legs and has his most productive days behind him.

No thanks.

I can't see MU doing this but I could see TL pushing for this. He wants to make this Canada's team and he has connections to the LAL. I don't see it happening though. This smacks of American media assuming because we're in Canada that we would jump to get him. They better be wrong.

Actually, their 2017 pick is gone too, and is protected until 2019, so they can't trade any first rounders at all.

No interest at all in Gasol. Best return I can see is a couple 2nd round picks, Nash, Hill, Henry and Wes Johnson for Lowry/Fields or Gay. Still not a great deal.

The knicks will take him. They are in desperate need of a veteran.

Quick question: if a player retires with one year left on his contract What happens to that salary? Just wondering if it stays on the books which I assume is the case. If it didn't stay against the cap I could see us dealing for Gasol and Nash who then retires next summer but stays on as an assistant next year (with a hefty salary obviously). That would be 30mil in expirings.

I almost expect him to retire early the way he's talking.

Hill would definitely be a must coming back. But if Fields is going the other way, I'm not sure that would be great at all. I'm becoming quite intrigued by Fields at this point. The only way I get even slightly satisfied by a deal would be if Gay continues to kill a ton of possessions and we can find the means to get some addition by subtraction without giving up anything else.

MU wont bite on this. Too smart and wont be swayed by MLSE.

I like the scenarios of fleecing them with trades that leave us wide open next year.

I agree - love Fields, just hard to find the right salary - and would be really hard to bring back enough to be able to send Rudy there, unless Pau comes back, but then why would they want Rudy?

Add on top of that a 10 million dollar cap hit....for the next two years....that would be one of the most lateral and or backwards moves we can make....Nash is too old and his age finally caught up to him.....and after leaving us for stupid LA, it would give me no greater pleasure then to see him sit on the sidelines of LAs bench for the next two years

Yipes. Gatsby is on his last legs and it's only a matter of time before the pistol needs to be taken out.

This is a terrible idea. Worse case scenario Nash has a month or two of health and helps keep the team at .500 eeew.

Bring on the Tank!!!
