Default nash ?

it seems he can be available by suns, but what do you think we can offer for him, and do we need him ?

I go for :
calderon + tpe (10M) + 2*2011 1st round pick + weems + evans (expiring)
for nash and tpe from amar'e + Siler.

nash/bayless/barbo
DD/barbo
Kleiza/wright/peja
amir/davis/dorsey
bargs/siler/alabi

but Calderon need to put down the last year of his contract to be fair with suns.

Jose won't give back a year... and he shouldn't either. Not sure Suns even want Jose. In fact, I'd doubt it.

It would cost both first round picks, our TPE and we'd have to take back a bad contract like Childress.

I love Nash and really hope we make a push to get him.

With that said, in one month and 3 days Nash turns 37, meaning he's realistically got only a couple of years left, and probably of declining production. If this was a few years ago, we could maybe afford to put our future on hold for Nash, but for a 37 year old Nash, we can't blow our brains out because we're not a team thats only one or two pieces away from contention.

If we can get Nash for like Calderon plus someone like Evans (and maybe Miami's pick) that's one thing but we certainly shouldn't trade our own 2011 pick. We're not the Leafs, let's not mortgage our future for a short term boost (*cough* Kessel trade).

We have to keep our own pick... but I'd certainly give them MIA's and some cap relief.

This team still needs a leader in the worst way.

Getting Nash would make us compete immediately.

even without the other guys, Nash makes us a 6-8 seed easily. It's a start

Nash is 36, it's all over for him. A first round pick for someone who will be playing 2-3 seasons? Come on...

I'm torn between seeing him play in Toronto, developing our young players and making them better (he can make all stars out of DD and bargs) OR him going to a contender to win a ring...
