Naming the top 3 raptors you want gone in order and why?

here is mine in order:

1) Jose Calderon - huge contract, reached his peak, cant stand his defense and his lack of aggressiveness on the offensive end. plus his shooting, which is sopposed to be the biggest weapon, has degressed imo in recent years. also extremely injury prone. and since the team is rebuilding, he isnt necessary for the process. whether u like bayless or not, i think hes shown the ability to run the team as a starting point guard for now (based off his stats and efficiency as a starter this year), or hopefully irving if we somehow manage to draft him....only if getting rid of him wasn't easier said than done

2) Sonny Weems - simple. he chucks too much and isnt a good enough shooter to do so. Now complains about his role and lack of minutes. like cmon, i think he allowed last season to get to his head and assumes hes a legitimate nba player. imo, hes still gotta prove his worth. needs to play smarter and way more consistent. plus there are players such as derozan, barbosa, arguably bayless (can play sg, occasionaly sonny does too) who play more efficient and effectively or have more upside than him. therefore, we are redundant at that position and he is the weakest link imo. he is easily replacable via free agency

3) Alexis Ajinca - pure scrub. plays too much like a wannabe bargs, except cant shoot worth shit and fails to live up to his potential as a defensive presence with length. very passive player as well. in the little playng time he gets, he annoys me deeply. can see why dallas got rid of him. i know his contract his small, but even so he is just a waste of space.

agree or disagree with my order and decisions or whatever, thats great. either suggest your own top 3 or own the shit outta my decisions lol. either way....discuss :cookie:

Sick, Wicked and Nasty! 04-13-2011 02:56 PM

1 - Jose: I've gone over this enough already :)
2 - Jay: In all the recent years of defensive ineptitude he is the only constant. He can't get his players to execute consistently.
3 - Alabi: Not NBA level talent.

DDUnreal 04-13-2011 03:11 PM

1.Jose: for all the same reasons
2.Bargnani: because he I am sick of the maybes & ifs
3.Ajinca: His game is too similar too Bargs. I don't find it appealing having a C that can stretch the defence and not play D himself.

carp 04-13-2011 03:21 PM

Amir or Ed
Ajinca
Weems

IGetAir 04-13-2011 03:28 PM

1. Bargnani; I'm a firm believer that your center has to be an anchor on defence. Lane intimidation, communication, switching, weakside help and just overall defensive capabilities are all things Bargnani doesn't have.

2. Jose; I'm a fan, and he plays his heart out but he just doesn't have the defensive presence you need from your PG. He can shoot but that has declined and I'm just not sure he's a PG that can take us to the next level in the future. Plus we're a rebuilding team and he doesn't fit into the equation.

3. Ajinca or Alabi; They're younger, and inexperienced players but I haven't seen anything I want to keep around from watching them. We already have a jam for bigs at this time (FA aside) and they're just scrubs.

Ps. I would put Jay but I don't want him gone, I just want him as an assistant coach. Seeing as how that's not likely with his salary, I say we keep him because I don't put the blame squarely on his shoulders for the terrible D this team has had.

weswo 04-13-2011 03:31 PM

Bargs - because he is the anchor keeping us stopped in the sea of shit

Calderon - because he is the captain of the ship that's currently stalled in the sea of shit

Triano - sorry jay you just suck but I love you for trying your best lol time we got a coach who isn't a rookie, cheap or over the hill

thought 04-13-2011 03:31 PM

1) Bargnani

2) Calderon

3) Amir - don't necessarily want him to go but I'd prefer to trade him in order to address a need

weswo 04-13-2011 03:39 PM

Ps. Sam Mitchell as fired for a few reasons one being because he wouldn't give bargs minutes ..yeah how's that working for us...I still question BC on that one ..no patience for him but has given bargs waaaay to much. Trade bargs while he's a the top of his game and that's not saying anything lol

'trane 04-13-2011 03:39 PM

calderon - expensive, useless going forward (in comparison to cost), can't defend, totally unnecessary except as a $10 mil mentor.

bargnani - i still think he can be an excellent nba player, but we need to move in another direction. time to set the tone of this team, and it should be different than the one he sets. i'd only get rid of him for something decent in return, though, not just to get rid of him.

barbosa - offensive black hole. too small to adequately defend position. i hope he declines his option hoping to lock into something before the new cba.

impossible but would want him gone:
kleiza - redundant and not effective in terms of the way we want to play. he's injured, so this is a pipe dream.

i don't think anyone else really needs to go. we just need better players around many of the guys we already have. this will be a long-ish rebuild. i expect to be terrible again next year.

jeffb 04-13-2011 03:51 PM

Jose- Bad defensively, too safe/passive, injury prone, high salary

Bargnani- Bad defensively, bad rebounder, Lazy, inconsistent shooter

Weems- Chucker, thinks he's Jordan, redundant

LX 04-13-2011 05:13 PM

Just want to see Bargnani gone. I would expect others to go as well, but I don't have any preferences. I wouldn't mind Ajinca staying as a guy deep on the bench. He's got size. He's cheap. And he could eventually take on a Rasho-type role when needed.

sixel 04-13-2011 05:14 PM

1:I want kleiza gone has soon has we can
this guy is a black hole in offense and he sucks defensively

2:Bargnani:sucks way to much in defense
gets too much touches in offense

3:Ajinca: pure scrub

DuCa00795 04-13-2011 05:22 PM

Kleiza
Weems
Evans

Admiral 04-13-2011 05:31 PM

1) Weems - can't shoot but shoots too much, shot has no range but thinks he can shoot 3s, cannot control his dribble and turns the ball over off his foot about half the time he controls it for more than 2 seconds, plays no defense, does not rebound well, does not pass at all, game is not expanding in any way but regressing overall, his friendship with demar is taking away from demar's personal development

2) Jose - his game has plateaued or worst regressed, shot is not as good and driving layup is rare, still can't really run a team without getting the plays from the coach, but has improved it slightly so its not every play from the coach, defense is still almost non-existent, can't seem to stay healthy consistently and the contract value is only growing each year

3) bargnani - his offense is good enough for me, but i just can't enjoy watching a big man just play an outside game, defense and rebounding are a 1 out of 10 making his offensive contributions completely negated by his defensive liability, can't seem to stay healthy enough all season, if we truly believe that ed davis and amir are part of the core and we want to pick up another big then there's just too many bigs on the roster, his contract can be used to get other useful players to fit around demar if he is our "franchise" guy

other guys that people are naming like Ajinca don't bother me because they're non-factors overall, they are bench players that on a regular basis would get no playing time or be on the inactive list anyways

TORaptor4Ever 04-13-2011 05:51 PM

1) Bargs

2) Jose

3) Kleiza

All 3 are making way too much money when compared to their actual production on the floor (IMO)... and none of them are great defenders.

The euro-experiment is over. Time to clear them out and give their minutes to guys who want to play on both ends of the floor.

Surprised at all the hate for Weems given that he hardly makes anything at all. I'd take the opportunity to low-ball him into a 3-yr contract worth $5M or something and see if he bites. When he's under control he's still capable of doing some nice things. He's more versatile than Wright who is like a perimeter-version of Reggie Evans (no offense to speak of).

Bankiz 04-13-2011 05:58 PM

1 bargs : tired of him and his "not a big deal"
2. jose because we need to make toom for bayless and a potentiel high pick pg.
3. weems + wright : make two sign and trade for them or just let them go. if possible do the same for kleiza (ut i don't think that even possible)

Scully 04-13-2011 06:02 PM

Bargs
Triano
Josie

None of them know how to win. It make me sick every time I see that we are paying these chumps 10 million a year. And Triano is a Wank.

Weems, Ajinca, Evans are already gone. Dorsey and Alabi are a dime a dozen.

highonpsi 04-13-2011 06:08 PM

Blow up the entire team. Start fresh with an expansion draft.

I am curious to know why you want Amir or Ed out.

Anyway... for me I only have two...

Bargnani- We won't be good on defence and rebounding if he is starting no matter who we put beside him. I would love for him to come off the bench as a sixth man but that ain't happening.

Ajinca- The guy is a jump shooter. We don't need any more jumpshooting big men. I don't see any upside from him at all. I would rather have Dorsey take his minutes.

EDIT: Kleiza is another guy i want gone next season. I would rather have JJ start over him and he shoots way too much.

Shifty.py 04-13-2011 07:16 PM

1) Triano
2) Bargnani
3) Bayless
