I am pretty sure that at some point very soon, Knicks will start to seriously try to unload Amare. And the person they will most likely turn to first is the guy who has drafted him - BC. Someone has already mentioned in one of the threads that Bargnani would look really good in NY as a second option to Melo (and I agree) - I just hope BC remembers just how fragile Amare is at this point in his career and how truly risky that uninsurable contract is.

Amare is almost untradable. I think the only way it happens is like the Arenas deal, where it's one awful deal for another. I don't think even BC would do that, nor do we have an applicable contract.
Only realistic things I've heard is Detroit for some crap platter of Ben Gordon or Charlie V. |

A good read on the subject of Amare's "future" in NY: NBA playoffs -- New York Knicks' Amare Stoudemire-Carmelo Anthony pairing not working - ESPN

The only people that can make Amare and Melo work is Steve Nash and Chris Paul because of their genius and unselfishness.
I dont know why NY thought itd work in the first place. Both are at their best operating on the same area of the court(elbow area) and both hold the ball. In a day where the zone is used in some way every possession to shrink the court, there's no way the spacing was ever going to be good nor the chemistry. Just another bad move by NY and theyre going to be on the treadmill for a long time now being stuck with both of them. Its too bad too, because Amare was awesome last year. |

Sign Nash, Barbosa and trade for Amare
![]() Hell, Maybe we can also get the Matrix back here. Stoudamire is owed 3yrs/64Mil ![]() If BC did go after him even i'd call for his head. |

Yeah, they've been trying to unload Brand's massive deal the last couple years and haven't been able to, they aren't going to unload it now when it is going to finally expire next season for a 3yr/64Mil contract. They'd be stupid if they did.

Adding Stoudemire is just two extra years over Brand's current deal. I think Amare would look good running the PnR with Iguodala. Shumpert is a very solid defender, so he further bolsters Philly's D. He's more than a throw in. |

I still think the Amare who played for the Knicks before the Anthony trade would be very valuable to Philly. If I'm the 76ers GM, it comes down to whether I could get better front court upgrades elsewhere. I'm not sure they can. |

This, plus he's played one season. This reminds me of the whole Landy Fields situation. After last season people were fawning over him, now those same people scoff at the mention of him being here. Whatever, not sold yet on Shumpert.
