I don't think anyone can make a trade assuming that Amare exists anymore.

The only scenario where I could see something like this happen is if we trade Bargnani for Stoudemire, receive a pick and maybe a guy like Landry Fields.

Then, we decide to amnesty Stoudemire (could that be done?) giving us additional cap space and letting us start from scratch completely. I could possibly get behind that.

Can't trade for a player and amnesty him.

Amare on the Knicks before Melo was one of my favourite players to watch.

You knew who the clear-cut #1 option was and he embraced it very well. You could tell he loved being 'the' guy. His team went on a 11 game winning streak too at one point if I'm not mistaken. He played really well like that, just I don't think his team would be anything close to contention.

The Knicks could amnesty him if they hadn't already amnestied Billups. I bet they wish they hadn't done that now. Can you imagine amnestying Amare's 20Mil then signing Nash and depth.

Trading for Amare is like the JO scenario all over again.

Knicks never should've done what they did. They should've just kept Billups, traded T.Douglas for R.Lopez (before the season started). trotted out Billups,Fields,Melo,Amare,Lopez - then sign DWill or CP3 (or another pg) (granted before CP3 was going to LA) in the summer (well this summer)

Well, not really. JO was done and was soon to be an expiring. Amare still gives you a scorer and can impact the game a lot better then JO did then. That being said, no way in hell would i want him here with 64Mil owed to him over 3yrs. That's just suicide! The NYK just can't seem to get anything right no matter what they do, and i love it. Let them rot with that contract.

I was just thinking about that. I still don't know why they gave him that contract. I do wonder if he could still be productive player if he became the focal point of an offence. He looked good early last year and for parts this year. It's when 'Melo is there and he dominates the offence that he can't get his own game going.

Amare just needs to continue attacking the glass and not worry about Melo.

I think they ran him into the ground last year. He was playing way too many minutes for someone with his injury history. Maybe a proper off-season will do him some good.

Oh I dunno...

This guys Achilles/ Calf issues have been here since year 2 of his career (always wonder why this never comes up) I'd say one of MY biggest Bargnani concerns IS his injury issues, specifically his Achilles and calf.
