Default Most overpaid "star" in the league today?

In light of today's performance by Rudy I thought that I'd throw the question out there and a few options to go with it....

I know people want to vote for Gay, but that'd just be biased, as although he sucks he still plays 30+ mpg. Amare is getting paid max money while playing 10 mpg.

Ya but the guy has a great reason in amare. Injuries. If he never suffered major injuries he would be dominating out there

Rudy isn't even an Allstar

Any player who has been an Allstar gets a pass because of the guaranteed contracts. You can't blame teams for signing guys to major deals to only end up suffering major injury derailing the career and the team.

"Overpaid" only means that he's getting paid too much for what he brings. It shouldn't matter if it's because of injury or general suckiness.

If Kobe doesn't come back this season he should be on the list.

You can definitely blame teams who sign players AFTER they have major injuries. Stoudemire was a walking injury when he signed in NY - they couldn't even get insurance for his contract. He's the worst of the lot, mostly because of the predictability of the situation.

joe johnson is hard to pass, but I went with amare
gay is a victim of a bad coach to some extent, he's being asked to do things that he can't (create for others), so he ends up shooting brick after brick
with his rebounding and defensive abilities, he would be great under a coach that knows how to use him. Not 17 million worth, but definitely 10+

the question was about who is overpaid now, not about which contract was the worse though. For the record, at the time, gay's contract seemed pretty good, if memphis didn't sign him, he would have been signed by somebody else to the same contract anyway. And he's still a very good player imo, he just need proper coaching.

although I'm more and more convinced that he also doesn't really give a shit - he's just happy to collect his paycheck. Either that, or he's delusional about his game and thinks he's just going to a slump right now

Memphis actually chose to give him a bit more than any other team could offer, I guess as a show of appreciation. Bad GMs do weird things.

We traded for him. The salvation for a bad GM, is a worse GM.

I'm actually shocked at the lack of votes for JJ.

Dude struggles to score 20 pts and makes the max.

As much as I want to hate on Rudy, Amare is the clear answer. He gets the max and plays 15 mpg if he's lucky. Next is JJ then perhaps Rudy gets bronze

I'd probably put granger 3rd, the guy hasn't played in 18 months and he's injured again.
