Promising sign for the second-year swingman? Not so much.

Havenít had a chance to talk to anyone on the staff over the weekend but Iím thinking the patience with Mr. Moon is wearing pretty thin.

Sam said the other night after the Minnesota game that he might like Joey better with the second unit to provide some slashing offence and rebounding to go along with Bargnani and Kapono but he could very well be re-thinking that these days.

Itíll be interesting to see who starts in Edmonton.

No doubt Sam is making a bit of a point, but its still being blown out of proportion.

Solomon has been logging heavy minutes most games, I guess that means Jose has been getting slack.

Whatever Snootch.

Moon deserves the shit he's taking, he's the only guy that it seems spent his whole off season doing absolutely nothing to improve.

Silly.

You dont know that man...

Evans said he worked with Moon most of the summer.

edit: at least I think.

Either way, he does deserve a bit of shit, but not to the extent that Doug is dogging him.

well I like Moon.

So hehad better get his shit straight soon.

I said it after game one, he, and a few other guys looked like they thought there was a special switch they could just turn on when the games started counting in the win loss columns..... hope he doesn't get burnt by that.

Does anyone really know what Moon worked on all Summer?

I mean really, you'd have to be there to know.

By the looks of it, I think his jumper. Again, just by the looks of it.

I still haven't liked his defensive positioning all that much. I just remember how I high we were on this kid last preseason and what he showed us then. We had very low expectations, but still we were all reasonably impressed. What's happened now?

McNeill: Did you have a chance to go on any trips with your wife or family?
Moon: No… well, actually I went on a trip to this beach resort down in Destin, Florida, for my anniversary, but that was about the only time I had to get away.

McNeill: Training wise, what did you do this summer to improve your game?
Moon: I just worked out. I did the same as before. Like I told the people last year, I’ve never really had a summer off so I’m used to working throughout the whole summer. I just kept working on every part of my game because I don’t like to focus on one or two things, I like to work on a bit of everything. That way I keep everything balanced out.

The one thing I was hoping to see out of moon was an increased aggression in trying to get into the lane, and get to the free throw line. i've been seeing a lot of one dribble fadeaways. he's got the athleticism to be around the rim but he doesn't utilize it to his advantage offensively.
his rebounding is pretty much the same, but he's not playing to his strengths and being aggressive

I would take more aggression on the defensive end.

On offense there are enough scorers, all Moon needs to do is either:
1) Swing the ball
2) Shoot the open shot
3) Drive if there is a lane

Plenty of offense on this team when it is clicking, never have too much defense

the only player who seems to be attacking the basket more than last year is AB and that's all.

Moon is meh, AP is meh...JO and Bosh SHOULD be doing it..like always have...im disappointed.

problem is moon isn't doing any of the things you listed above, or at least doing any of them consistently. this team needs to score from the swing position in my opinion. we haven't exactly been shooting the lights out during the preseason, and a slashing three who can get to the free throw line 6-8 times a game is something Moon could be.

when moon get's fouled he'll shoot free throws.

Fuck you.

Now, back to Moon. I remember that statement, th eone about how he doesn't like working on one or two things in the offseason, and I HATED it.

You should be working on your whole game, sure. But to make any real significant advances you have to focus on a couple things, perfect them, add them to your game, then move on to more. Seemed to work wonderfully for Michael Jordan...Steve Nash...Kobe Bryant....oh, wait, nevermind, they are stars. Anyjow I'll give you an example for moon. He has trouble attacking the basket, one reason is his shot, it isn't keeping anyone honest, so, 2-3000 spot up 18-24 footers would help that. The secong part of that is developing one really good fake out of the triple thret to get his guy in the air consistantly, thus allowing him to gain the lane if his shot is beingtaken away. There two things he could hav ebashed into his head for 4 months that would have really helped....A LOT. but hey, he has a slightly better, so he says, mid range jump shot, which is useless, as noody gets up on him, and he never beats his man off the dribble to get to a spot to shoot it anyhow.

I guess ya would have had to play ball to know that???

Hardly, it's just common effin logic. And this is why I no likey Moon much right now.

Yet still love the guy.

Kooky.
