Default Moon on either All-NBA Defensive Teams?

If he continues this torrid pace on the defensive side, is it out of the question that he could be considered as all NBA on either All-Defensive squad at the end of this season or it is still too premature and I'm jumping the gun here?

I think if he keeps it up for the rest of the season there's no reason why he wouldn't make the second team. He reminded me a lot of Kirilenko this evening.

Christ, Raja Bell made it last year to the first team.

I think he can, because like he showed tonight he's an opposing teams nightmare and a game changer. He doesn't even have to get a steal or block a shot to be affective. Example, when Smith had a clear chance to dunk it, as soon as he could sense that Moon was nearby he lost his train of thought, fumble the dunk and turned over the ball.

As long as shows a willingness to learn, the sky's the limits for Jamario. What a steal for us. (pardon the pun)

I dont know what kind of player they usually choose, but I dont know, too many good things are happening to him. I dont see him getting anymore luck.

Although he's possibly good enough, he's just doesn't have enough of a name for himself yet. Bowen gets D awards because he's been doing it consistently for years. JMoon just hasn't proved he's not a flash in the pan yet,

Good point 'trane ..... I guess the homerism in me is hoping that he can make that big of an impact to win such an accolade.

Hinrich, Bell and Kidd made it last year, so take them off of the list and if he keeps it up he's a shoe-in.

I strongly doubts he makes it, not sure if he even deserves it. He has problems defending stronger players, and I'm not talking lebron here - he's a nightmare for any defense. BUt even pierce kills jamario, josh smith last night gave him troubles in the first half, etc

Smith was being covered by Bosh, Bargs and Hump in the first half. Moon was on Marvin Williams. He covered him in the second half when he scored all of four points... *sigh*

Yup, I was about to point that out. Smith was abusing Bosh for the most part when he started off hot in the 1st half. Moon switched over to cover JSmoove close to the end of the half and cooled him off. Then he shut him down pretty much in the 2nd half and caused Smith to turnover the ball at least 3 times on his own.

You've been dropping the ball, so someone else had to pick-up the slack.

I thought moon got both his fouls while defending josh smith - but it could have been while trying to help. Still, moon remains underpowered vs some players. If you want to consider just SF, there are other players that are better defenders, starting with bowen, s. jackson, kirilenko, josh smith, prince etc. Plus he's a rookie, unless he is completely off the charts, he has no chance to make the all-defense teams ... I think Duncan was the last rookie to accomplish this.
