Moon in 09 Slam Dunk Contest?

Well i know its really early still and im not sure how or when palyers are chosen for the all start activities, but do you guys think moon will be back again this year to get another crack at the slam dunk contest? I mean concidering he kinda got screwed last year (did worng dunks, + DH was pretty much the winner before it even started) what do you guys think. Also the fact that he won the TV sprite sponsored Slam Dunk Contest where people would vote during games starting from 32 dunks down to one, i think its only fair that he is given another shot at the slam dunk contest. DH was given a second shot so why not him:dancing: Do you guys think he will be back int eh slam dunk contest again this year?

I would hope they would give him another chance or if not him I could see another new Raptor enter the competition in Hassan Adams. Its just a matter if Moon's even interested in entering it. I hope he is because quite frankly Howard's "Superman" dunk was a joke, not to mention it wasn't even a dunk. :cwm34:

Welcome to RF m5racer. :)

thank you! and yes when i saw that dunk too the "superman" i was laughing my ass of beucase 1. it was not a dunk so how could he win, shit someone should have jsut attempted to make a shot of the oppisite end of the court. 2. his dunk was nothing speical except for the fact that he jumped like 5 feet from the rim and threw the ball in the basket. I hope moon can go back so he can take that title home with him.

It's all about gimmicks in my opinion. Not who can be most creative with their dunk, but who can look the most ridiculous doing one. ;)

They should have let both of them dunk on a 12 feet hoop. ;)

Hi Guys!

I would love to see Jamario or Hassan in the contest. Jamario should get a 2nd chance and Hassan is an underrated dunker imo.

I hope one of them is in there ;)

Bye

According to a poster on another site, he met Jamario and he guaranteed he is particapating.

I would love to see Jamario in the dunk contest, but it is rare enough to have a player be in the contest two or more years in a row without winning, but when said player is on the one team that isn't in the US, and he isn't even the most recognizable player on said team? Face it, Moon in the '09 contest ain't happening.

people really must be getting bored in this forum

I said that it was rare, not impossible for a player to return after not winning. It isn't like I agree with Howard's return, but I could see a player like him, a rising superstar, going in twice much more often than a player like Jamario, a 28 year old role player.

Green won the first year he was in it...how the hell could they justify not having him back?

And Dwight Howard is the heir to Shaq as the league's fun loving big man that everyone love. Thats as good as gold for the league. So from a marketing standpoint they'd have been stupid not to put him in again as well (Not to mention the dude is a sick dunker)

Jamario is a very average player playing in Canada. He has no marketability from a league wide perspective, and his performance last year didn't exactly leave people screaming his name.

There is almost no incentive for the NBA to put Jamario back in the dunk comp other than the fact that he'll probably already be there for the rookie/soph game.

He'll have to earn it by driving the lane and throwing down big dunks this year.......
