Wait, that's what TL does. This makes no sense.

Then we do what we have had to do with our Head Coaching staff over the last few hires...find some assistant that has some good assistant credentials and give him a shot....

Oh enough with inexperienced HC's. We haven't had an experienced HC since Wilkens.

There's more money and less risk in being a big shot ceo though

My thoughts exactly.....It would be amazing if we could actually get someone with experience to coach this team...dare i say someone who before coming here has a winning record as a HC in the NBA

How are we supposed to say trade Bargs (keep the flames off) or attract high level free agents to this team if we cant even get high level personal to come here and coach/run this bitch?

I bet we will offer Ujiri significantly more money and possibly more years then Denver, and still wont get the guy.....even when we have money to throw around we still get looked over and passed on

2, but who's counting?

And the second year they barely scraped into the playoffs.

The year everyone always said was because of a weak division /EC? Either way this team needs an experienced head coach. That beats going to the second round?

This does make sense to me. People keep saying B.C. is a greasy used car salesman. Why wouldn't he be in the business/marketing aspect?

If you look at his resume before Toronto, he is likely to work just under TL driving all areas of MLSE to more profitability.

i.e. Is he stepping down from head of basketball ops, or stepping up to have a hand overseeing the entirety of MLSE?

---------------------------

In addition to his work with the Suns, he served as president of Phoenix Arena Sports (PAS), the owning entity of the Arizona Rattlers Arena Football League team and the operating entity of the Phoenix Mercury WNBA team from June 1991 through June 2002. The Rattlers won the championship in 1994 and 1997 and the Mercury played in the WNBA finals in 1998. He won the AFL Executive of the Year award in 1993 for his work with the Rattlers.

BC is done as Raptors GM, no new GM announced

Re CBC

Quote:
It appears Bryan Colangelo is out as president and general manager of the Toronto Raptors, but he could be staying with the team in another capacity.

According to multiple media reports, the Raptors are negotiating with Colangelo to take on a corporate, non-basketball role with the team.

The reports did not specify what Colangelo's new duties with the team would be.

Colangelo joined the Raptors in 2006 and was named the NBA's executive of the year in 2007 when Toronto won its only Atlantic Division title. But Toronto has missed the post-season for five straight seasons and it appears the team is ready to move in a new direction.

The Raptors are reportedly targeting Denver GM Masai Ujiri to take over the reins in Toronto.

Ujiri recently won the NBA's executive of the year award and served under Colangelo as Toronto's assistant GM from 2008-10.

So can we move on and blow this thing up now?

How many 2014 first rounders with expirings can we get?

3rd pick for Rudy gay
7th for Demar
8th for Lowry
9th for Amir
Hang on to JV

Tank next season and aim for 1st pick

Who's with me? No one? Didn't think so.
