What about Sloan as a coach/GM? I wonder what he'd be like as a GM.

Jerry Sloan wants to coach again. I bet NYK takes a look at him but maybe, just maybe, he'd think about the Raps, especially a retooled Raps team with a franchise PG Irving and without Bargnani.
sorry I don't want us to turn in to the Toronto Jazz..
players probably won't be allowed to wear headbands if that guy coaches us

Why haven't there been any rich entrepreneur looking into buying control of the raptors? From a business standpoint, this team looks like it offers greater return than some of the recent change in ownership of other franchise. I would think a raps team in playoffs would almost certainly mean complete sellout.

i would happily take no headbands in return for one of the most successful and committed team systems in the history of the nba. defense and consistency aside, though, i see you're point. it's always important to look good...

When has MLSE been anything OTHER than dysfunctional when it comes to one of their sports properties? I mean, all three teams owned by this blight on Toronto sports have been in a perpetual state of disgrace as far back as I can remember. The Raptors and Leafs have a cup of coffee with mediocrity once in a while but overall, this company exists to do one thing and one thing only...make money.

They're damned good at doing that. Not so good at putting a product on the field/court/ice that isn't a freaking joke.

As for this story, it's so unbelievably stupid that I completely believe it is true. In any other NBA franchise, it would be ridiculous to suggest that some random accountant with friends in the right places could actually decide the fate of the basketball team. Here in Toronto, it's just another day at work at MLSE

Hmm....

No headbands allowed and players actually playing some effing D for the first time in the history of this franchise

or

Players wearing headbands and giving up 110+ points every other game.

Tough choice for me.
