Just curious to your thoughts on how much playing time different Raps might get this season. I figure you can pretty well guess Jose and CB4 will get their 35+mins a night, but how about JO? Will they limit his time to save him for the playoffs? How about AP? He's in his 30s but with only Hassan Adams backing him up he may not get much rest. Bargnani should be backing up 3 positions and potentially starting at 1 of them so he should see plenty of time. And finally, who gets more PT, Jamario or Kapono? Or Humphries or Jawai?
A lot will be determined in training camp so it's all speculation at this point. Something to think about though.
On a related note - Have any Raptors reported early to training camp? I read recently that the entire Orlando team is already training together (except for Turkolu; he's playing for Turkey). If so, any reports on how they're doing? Like did Jamario learn to shoot 3s or maybe gain some weight? Are Adams and Jawai gonna surprise this year?

Bargs-13 at PF, and 7 at C
Mitchell needs to manage Calderon's minutes carefully. This is the first year he's going to be playing major NBA minutes for 82 games and we want something to be left in his tank once the playoffs start. Calderon's in excellent physical shape but towards the end of last year he did lose a step and a lot of his jumpers started hitting front-rim - a sure sign of tiredness.
I don't know how reliable Ukic is but if he can spell Calderon for 10-12 minutes or so and somebody else like Parker/Solomon can handle PG duties for about 5, then Calderon can play approx 30 minutes. This would be an ideal scenario.
ain't that the truth.
Oddly enough, even though the scouts all say Roko isn't ready, for whatever reason, I think he'll be ok. He athletic, and that covers a lot of in defficiencies in the NBA...see Rajon Rondo.
But ya, Arsenalist has it dead here, Jose is a water bug, but we've seen what happens to waterbugs (stevie Canada), they need sleep.
he played 30 minutes last season, and he did look a bit tired towards the end. However, you can't have your starting pg playing less than 35, unless you have a very deep bench. I think we're not yet at the point where we think playoffs before the regular season. It's more important for us to get at least #2 in the division, so we can have home court, if we play on the road again, it will be very hard to win, regardless how rested our starters are ...
