Miami's Johnson Suspended For One Game For Flagrant On Andrea
:clapping: I'm glad that he's not getting off for his hit on Andrea.

Alexander Johnson of the Miami Heat has been suspended one game without pay for throwing his body into Andrea Bargnani in mid-air and knocking him to the ground, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

In addition, the Flagrant Foul, Penalty One that was called against Johnson on the play has been upgraded to a Flagrant Foul, Penalty Two.

The incident occurred with 9:57 remaining in the third period of the Heat's 108-83 loss to the Raptors on Wednesday, March 5 at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Johnson will serve his suspension tonight when the Heat hosts the Golden State Warriors at AmericanAirlines Arena.

this was an easy call for the NBA.
they need to really come down hard on these types of plays, intentional or not... health and safety is a must.

plus, who the hell is Alexander Johnson?
this wasnt a hard decision for them to make... its not like the dirk one.

Totally agree it was an easy decision for the NBA. Its too bad though that we don't have a player that at least would get in Johnsons face after that hard foul.

TJ would've had he been on the floor. ;)

good call by the league, these types of fouls are unacceptable.

But how much responsibility is on Pat Reilly who, for sure, insist that his guys be rough on Bargnani... I can almost hear him taunting them:"Are you going this shit from this little Italian prick... don't you have pride in your game... if I was playing I would let him know that he cannot get to hoop that easy in our house..."

Like it or not... coaches are to blame... at least partly. :batman:

Seriously guys, our teams filled with a bunch of PUSSYS (acception of Ford)

-When TJ Ford went down with that hard foul from Horford, who came to back him up and throw a few choice words at horford? NO ONE but sam, c'mon our fuking coach was the only guy stepping up for TJ.
- Andrea Bargnani goes down hard loses 2 teeth!!!!
- Now last year vs the milwaukee bucks, andrew bogut pushed chris bosh, tj ford came running and bleeped a few words. After the game he said, "Hes my teamate". The guys 6-0 and fearless.

Thats another reason I hate the raptors, no one has anyones back.
We always here about our outstanding locker room, but whats going to happen when real shit goes down?

The toronto raptors lack some SERIOUS toughness and 1 player cant change it all.

our team is seriously lame in terms of toughness, but that Horford foul was so obviously not intentional and was near the end of the game. Al is a really good guy his parents live about 2 miles from my house in dominican and he still plays locally and gives $ to run a youth team. Believe me he isnt that kind of player and was immediately sorry and u could see a real look of concern on his face, so i dont see how u can go punch him up or w/e. But the Bargs thing... well if u wont defend your number 1 pick and supposed future of your team from bullshit like that, its hard for the kid to want to go to the rim hard and take on ppl.

Kuzzy 03-08-2008 09:34 PM

but c'mon
games been decided, tj goes up for a lay-up
why the hell would you try and block it??
i know it wasnt intentional, but the kid needed someone in his gril for making a really stupid rookie mistake.

i hear what your saying, but i also like his mentality, no freebies, anytime, anywhere, he will contest your shot. Horford is my ROY btw for these reasons and cuz he is a rebounding team orientated guy (the fact i know his family helps a bit too :P ). I could see ppl getting in his face, but he was truely sorry and i heard he went to the hospital to visit TJ, it was kind of a freak play, TJ made a really good hesitation move. But o well its done now, im sure Oakley would have done something in his hayday and prob many others, but i can see letting it go, especially when the guy is motionless on the floor and your fearing he may never walk again and he is crying, its kinda hard to wanna kill some1 til u know how bad it really is.

Horfords foul was a bad one.

The Bargs play, heh, that was one hel of a good check, he left his feet though, so it was charging, good call by the ref to caal that a penalty........er.......hold on, you mean this isn't Hockey????

Ya, Toronto is soft, but our fearless leader Mr. Bosh set that tone early this year, he ain't gonna play rough, or get rough, it just isn't his style. Nor is it his team's style now. Great.
