Chad Ford on ESPN Insider about 2010 FAs:

Quote:
Bosh has been pegged since last year as the young star free agent most likely to bolt his team. The Raptors have been struggling, and Bosh has been privately pining to return to the States. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he will leave, but the Raptors are really sweating it. They need to show huge improvement this season.

You can expect every one of the teams with cap space to make a big push for him. The Rockets would be appealing because they play in Bosh's native Texas. But the Heat might be the most interesting option. A Bosh-Wade combination sounds formidable. And don't count out the Bulls. They want him, and with young players like Derrick Rose on the squad, he'd have a bright future in Chicago.
I think the fact that the moves this summer made it almost guaranteed,or at least very likely that Bosh will resign next summer is making some writers go insane ....

Wade was the one who got into arguments with his GM, while Bosh laughed at the idea of leaving to NY and repeatedly declared himself very happy with the moves + pitched in with convincing hedu to stay. And yet, Bosh is secretly (how convenient ... ) desiring to leave his team.

And we have to show huge improvements (win a title?) in order to stop Bosh to leave to a lottery team (in all likelihood chicago, miami and hoston will be lotter teams next summer). I mean after all, who in his right mind would play for a good team in Canada when he can bask in mediocrity in a lottery team in the states

Maybe they're just pissed off that it looks likely that lebron, wade, kobe and Bosh will stick with their current teams, which will deprive them of huge breaking news and tons of visitors ....

As if. It would only be the start of the rumors about trade demands, or at the very least how inevitable it will be that they come at some point.

It's just extremely boring. This is what the focus on individual star players has amounted to. Fuck it. Really. The more people here insist that he isn't a big enough star, the more I want him here. And if he gets traded, I only pray it's not for someone that can get proclaimed as a "franchise" guy. That shit is gradually suffocating the whole game. Can we not just let whatever true greatness that exists wherever it might exist, just emerge on its own?

I think this is actually rather pleasant compared to some of the other articles I've read. I completely disagree with it though. Osh-Bosh is staying put.

I didn't sense any hate in that. Seemed pretty normal to me.

Yeah - it's not hate, just strict adherence to the kind of drama surrounding star players that the league has promoted for far too long now. And in that sense it does start to resemble something fetishistic. And that offers a way of looking at things that isn't that different from hatred.

He's just pulling that info out of his ass and trying to pass it off as fact.

Don't believe the hype!

Well, whichever team Bosh "has been privately pining to return to," it can no longer be Cleveland.

Quote:
2010 FREE AGENCY: Bosh won't join LeBron
Chris Bosh will be a member of the stellar 2010 free-agent class next summer, but one team he won't be signing with is the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The (Northern Ohio) News-Herald points out that the team won't have enough money under the cap next summer to bring in a high-dollar free agent after signing Anderson Varejao, Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon to multiyear contracts last month.

Bosh is gone either sometime during this season or next summer.

Start getting used to the idea.

Clogging Cleveland's capspace? Finally Jamario does something useful...

Bosh would have a brighter future in Chicago than Toronto? Are you kidding me? That makes perfect sense. Bosh would leave Toronto for a squad, save Rose, more stagnant and mediocre on every level. Raptors sans Bosh >> Chicago currently

It doesn't matter that the Raptors are better than the Bulls on about every level. It's an American superiority complex thing. Reports like this won't stop popping up until Bosh is either A) traded, B) signed by another team, or C) retires as a Raptor, at which point analysts will wonder why he stayed in Toronto, and then move on to Toronto's next marquee player who is allegedly "yearning to play in the States." It's a never ending cycle that deserves to be ignored.

didn't Bryan say he would offer a contract extension to Bosh once he was done and happy with all the off season acquisitons.

well, there is no news that he has offered Bosh a contract extension. so, that means more off-season excitement.
