Default Masai still willing to trade Lowry

Marc Stein claims Masai still willing to trade Lowry:

"Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine
Trade rumble: Sense around league remains Toronto more likely to trade Kyle Lowry than keep him to prevent losing asset for nothing. But ...
Issue here hasn't changed: No team out there willing YET to meet Raps' asking price for PG who, nice as he's playin, can bolt in free agency
6 minutes ago Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine "

I guess Lowry has given no endorsement that he would be willing to sign with the Raps at the end of the season.

Yeah, nothing has changed. Yes, this core is intriguing. No, it probably won't be nearly as competitive without Lowry. Yes, Lowry has control over what happens this summer. No, the Raptors do not, and no, Ujiri is not comfortable with that. Yes, he'll be moved if there's a good return; no, he won't if there isn't.

Good to know the trade feelers are still out, though.

See like I said he will be traded by the deadline or even over the All-Star break IMO

I will not be very sad if he will be traded for the top 10 pick and some solid expiring pg so the Raptors could get to the playoffs this year. I bet thats what Masai is trying to do.

I think this post accurately sums up the entire situation.

Lock thread and move on.

Mark Stein is a Laker fan, and he's just wishful thinking they will have Lowry, Melo, Rondo, Kobe, Brooke Lopez and K-Love on next year's Laker squad.

Wait a minute! You've forgotten LeBron!

He will opt out and sign for the vet minimum to come off the bench.

I think our best bet is OKC

If Westbrook continues to be injured...

We trade Lowry, & Hayes for Jackson, Perkins, Roberson & one of there 1st round picks 2014.

I think this could happen & it is possibly what MU is holding out for.

Well, since you think it could happen then I'm positive MU is waiting for this as well.

No offense, I would do that trade but I highly doubt OKC will.

They might do it if it is Salmons instead of Hayes - effectively lets them dump the Perk contract and brings in Lowry all in one swoop, and their draft pick is going to be pretty late.

If Ujiri isn't 100% sure he could re-sign him at a fair price in the offseason, then the smart call is too trade him before the deadline while his value is an all time high. I suspect Ujiri is still keen on trading Lowry (if true), because Kyle probably has been honest about his offseason intentions. It would suck but you gotta move on and do what's best for the team.

MU knows he won't get NYK to give up that 2018 pick and GS won't be giving up Barnes as a result of them picking up Crawford. Lowry is playing like one of the top pg's in the East and could help OKC considerably. It would be a great pick up for OKC, with Westbrook out. I would ask for the Dallas first which is 20 or later instead of OKC's 1st. If Dallas doesn't end up top 10, that pick potentially can be unprotected and very high in 2018 when Dirk is gone by then. Hayes for Perkins balances out as you're trading essentially garbage for garbage. If OKC wants to unload Perkin's contract alone, that would likely cost them their 2014 late first rounder. On paper, that trade isin't bad at all. OKC would be worried about losing Lowry as he's a UFA at the end of the season and they don't really like going into luxury tax. Swapping Salmons for Hayes would be worth it for them as it would give them some wiggle room to potentially re-sign Lowry. Even if he walks, they still had Lowry for the playoff run, lost Jackson, but got rid of Perkin's contract.

I think a trade with OKC will be good for Lowry as well, he would still get a lot of minutes even with RW back. I can see him playing alongside Westbrook and Durant for long streches in the game

Why would Lowry want to go? To be a back-up with 15-20 minutes on a championship team is certainly enticing but KL has given every indication he wants to be a starter on whatever team he is on. Makes sense really cause when he doesn't start all sorts of shit breaks out.

For the 127383930th time, backups are not limited to 15 mpg as some of you think. Lowry, if he were a backup, would play a 6th man role and end up with 28+ mpg

Nobody mentioned a thing about minutes. But nobody will pay him 8-10mil to come off the bench. We can give him that per year + starting role.

But IMO, it comes down to if he wants to win a chip, or be a starter
