I Wonder if we keep Casey.

He was asked about Casey and the job he has done and if that warrants keeping him. Masai said: "100%". Then he continued the praise and finished of mentioning that it we'll see how the play-offs go and it will be done once the season is finished.

Casey has done a great job this year. Every time a player is asked about what makes this Raptors a good team, it's always the same answer: toughness, playing solid D and team basketball on the offence. It has a lot to do with Casey's system and the culture he tried to establish ever since he got here.

Casey is also doing a very good job developping our two sophomores Ross and Val and we saw him improve as a coach a lot this year (better rotations, no more 5 sec. violation on the inbounds like a year ago...). On that regard, I think the assistants Ujiri brought helped Casey evolve.

He should be back.

Players do seem to really like him and he has done good things with this team.

I've been a frequent criticizer of his late game play calling on the offensive side and his rotations but I'd have to admit that it would be difficult to not keep him based on pre-season expectations and the team's overall performance.

ideally casey would be an assitant coach imo, he is way above average with D but piss poor with O

you cant just make a head coach be an assitant tho:cookie: he's been working for this team overall, so keep him unless jerry sloan wants to make very little coaching raps

Top 10 NBA Offense and he is "piss poor with O"?
A lot of players developing and having career years under him and he is "piss poor with O"?
Unselfish offense with good ball movement and he is "piss poor with O"?
Finding ways to win and score even with injuries or key players having a bad game, constantly finds scoring from all over the team and he is "piss poor with O?"

When it went to Casey's replay's it said '2nd season as raps coach', lol. Nice nbatv

he's been steadily improving, and evolving, with our young player core. There's only one part of his job he's really still really lacking at and that's late game play calls. But this is something that can be fixed, by either casey himself, or an assistant specialist for those situations.

I think will go far under him in the playoffs; Dallas has a ring all thanks to his defensive strategy as an assistant coach; he understand the playoffs ^_^

Agreed. Late game play calling seems like a big weakness but he seems solid in a lot of areas. Hopefully he continues to improve

one of only 5 teams top 10 in offense and defense.. Casey has done an excellent job this season.

also underrated part of his coaching is the "no quit" this team has. whether its going 4-19 last year and then not being discouraged and fighting back to win 5 game stretch.

or this year starting off brutal, watching the "franchise player" get dealt for a bunch of bench guys and hearing all sorts of other trade rumours and tank talk and still being able to compete every night and win a slew of games.

the players buy into whatever he's preaching, you can also see this with the way they always come out in the third quarter (raptors have had notoriously bad 3rd quarters) but Casey gets to them
