Martin or Butler? You choose.

Ok Kevin Martin and Butler recently have been linked in rumours that could see one of them land here within the next month. If you had to pick one which would it be? Just based on talent, not who is dealt for him.

Martin (26 yrs old):
(09-10) 28.7ppg- 5RPG- 2.5asts (42 FG%, 45 3PT%) only 6GP

Butler (29yrs old):
(09-10) 16.8ppg-6.6rpg-2.1apg (42 FG%, 30 3PT%)

Butler has been more durable, but is older. Hmmmmmmmmm

Between those two, I would prefer Butler. He'll play solid defense and will rebound and is much more stronger and durable than Martin. Also he can play the three backing up Hedo (his natural position). We need him more than we need Martin.

I think Butler is the better defender, so that would be appealing to me.

Butler- 161 GP

Butler. You get a chance to acquire one of the best two-way players in the league and there should be no hesitation.

DeMar as the sixth man is also a very appealing scenario to me. By the time Butler is gone, if he leaves, DeMar should be ready to take his spot. If he hasn't jettisoned by then, that is...

butler is better, but martin is a better fit and has a longer contract and he's more likely to be available

as long as they have arenas, they don't need calderon. and they will have arenas for a long time

if we got butler, you'd have to share minutes with hedu, who is untradeable the way he's playing. You'd have to give hedu 15-20 mpg, and he would not accept that.

Caron Butler.
Solid player on both sides of the ball. Strong enough to defend the likes of LeBron and Carmelo while Kevin Martin would get abused defensively

I'll go against the grain and say Martin(considering Amir is not dealt)...The offense would be even more stellar with Martin's 3 point shooting. The defense would basically be the same, but we'd be more inclined to just outscore teams.

You can trade for Butler and still give him and Turkoglu 33+ minutes no problem without interfering with anyone else's minutes.

Martin may have the incredible scoring numbers but Butler is no slouch on the offensive end either. Caron's offensive game still addresses our weaknesses on the offensive end - a reliable slasher, a guy that can create his own offense off the dribble and at the end of the clock.

It's not even close!

I think what Turks need is a better coach who can scream at him like Stan van gundy does; Traino is not a perfect coach for Turks and Turks wasting his time here eating pizza and drinking sprite.

butler can create off the ball, hes a good defender, martin needs the ball in his hands alot to be effective, and he chucks up too many shots. butler. but raptor fans, we arenr gonna get either of them.. because there are teams simply who can offer better. =/

Butler is much more durable and a way better defender.

Kmart is a better scorer but that's about it.

Martin's not a chucker he's actually an extremely efficient scorer - great three point and field goal percentages, and he gets to the line a ton. You're right though, not really worth his salt on D.

I'd be happy with either one, but Caron would make this team a lot better.
