Mark Iavaroni

Does anyone look at this guy at all and place some blame? He was brought in to fix the defence and appears to have made it worse, who thought that could happen?? And if that's the case, who else bought into his so called philosophy.....Triano, BC??

I don't know, actual defensive rotations and reading the situation seem quite ok
Don't blame the game, blame the players in this case.
And perhaps the way Triano handles threats of opposing team?

Are you sure you watched the game? Do you know how many dunks and open threes Phoenix had?

What success did Mark Iavaroni have in Memphis? Still why they hired him I wonder.

My problem with the guy is that he doesn't seem to react to failure other than to look like a deer in the headlights. He had that look the whole time in Memphis, and he's carried that over here.

And what I really wonder about, is what BC sees in the guy.

m5racer 11-30-2009 09:44 AM

yaa, i dont think this has anything to do with the coaches at this point. This is the players who are creating this defensive shit show. Man bargs especially doesent attempt to jump near the ball half the time

LX 11-30-2009 09:59 AM

The coaches need to do something don't they? I wholeheartedly agree that it's up to the players, but just sticking with the status quo in the face of repeated failures does not strike me as effective coaching.

We have to stop switching on everything and fight threw the screens...Anyone else notice how many times Jose and Jack end up guarding the other teams bigs? It's just ridicolous. Our defencive theory is horrible and is the reason we are losing games.

Shit. I'm questioning what Colangelo sees in a lot of things nowadays...

...but yeah coaching is at the top the list though.

I know they could turn it around, but i gotta say Colangelo isn't looking like King Midas now.

you could get a proven coach easy but I think BC likes his projects and make something new
D'antoni was basically unheard of before he was head coach (coming from coaching in Europe), Triano a new guy as well
creating a new type of "UN" team in Toronto
Suns run and gun offense
he wants to be a renaissance man
