Yeah, but for the most part, Orlando has gotten worse than last season. Many contenders have made their roster better, but Orlando got much worse. They seriously need more players.

Marion to Dallas? (UPDATE) - CBSSports.com

UPDATE: If Toronto and Dallas work out a deal, Jerry Stackhouse almost certainly would be headed to Toronto because only $2 million of his $7 million salary for next season is guaranteed. Also, you should be following me on Twitter, because you could've found out about this story before I posted it. This news is like so-a-half-hour-ago.

UPDATE: A second person familiar with the situation said the Marion-to-Dallas scenario was being pushed by Mavs owner Mark Cuban and Marion's agent, Dan Fegan. Dallas, the person said, was trying to involve either Oklahoma City or Memphis as a third team to facilitate Toronto's need to clear cap space for Turkoglu.

UPDATE: While there is interest in Marion among several contenders seeking an agile transition player and 3-point shooter, his potential landing spots are limited to teams willing and able to pay him more than the mid-level exception of about $5.6 million -- unless that's all Fegan is able to get for him. That would appear to take a team like Cleveland out of the mix for Matrix.

no it doesnt, but it should involve Orlando. Makes more sense.

There is absolutly no reason to sign and trade Marion solely for capspace other than to give marion more money.

Dallas can sign him for the MLE if Marion wants to be there and dallas wants him.

We need cap relief to afford us to sign more players after Turk.
So unless the S&T involved us trading away banks and getting Wright, Barea and stackhouse it isnt of much benefit to us.

Actually if Marion was signed at 8 million,

Marion, Banks, Jawai

for
Stack, Barea, Wright, 2 million cash

meets cba requirements

If Marion signs for about 8.5-9Mil and is moved we should be able to sign Turkoglu and stay under the cap and then sign our FA to go over the cap allowing us to round out the roster w/MLE/LLE & Bi annual

If Marion was OK with the MLE, I expect he would have been in Cleveland by now.

exactly. If he would take a pay cut to play for a crappy team, why wouldnt he want to play for a contender.

Dont think so, a team that is under the cap must first resign their own fa's before extending contracts to other teams fa's, so that means we would still need to renounce other players and fill out roster with minimum players. Excemptions would be forfeited.

On a side note, Otis said he wouldnt S&T with Toronto for Marion or Delfino because he wants no salary coming back, Stackhouse wouldnt be any salary coming back.

He'd trade basically Bass for Marion, without hesitation. Specially starting a 36 years PG in the next 3 years, for 8+ M

Marion is a NBA proven player. Bass is a promise

Sports 620 KTAR's John Gambodoro is reporting today that the Suns are interested in bringing Shawn Marion back to Phoenix for something near the MLE ($5m/yr).

With Grant Hill exploring his options, the thought of Marion back in town is almost too good to be true. I've always been a huge fan of the Trix. You can say a LOT of bad things about Marion (mostly that his ego got the better of him) but on the court NO ONE played harder each and every game. And while Grant is a fantastic guy and played great, if you have to choose between a 31 year old Marion who can defend 4 positions and run the floor and finish with the best of them then it is no contest.

I am a bit surprised that the Suns would consider it, but very happy to hear that is the case.
