Manufacturing issues solved, the black uniforms will be back

I know people have been wondering...well here you go.

Q: Not sure if this has been asked before, but what happened to the black away uniforms? I don't recall them wearing them this year.

Rob H, Brampton

A: Glad you asked.

I’m told be highly reputable sources that, finally, some manufacturing issues have been resolved and the uniforms are either here or on their way any day and, yes, they will trot them out sometime in the future.

Don’t know when that’ll be, but it should be soon and the people will be pleased.

The black uniforms look cool, and they match this site pretty well, but black isn't very original.

Black is by far our best uniforms. What does he mean by, people will be very pleased? Did they make some changes?

Not very original? Neither is white home uniforms. How many teams have black uniforms in the NBA?

Once I see a pic of Isiah Thomas with a shirt with "real men wears black" on it, so maybe black is not the best colour for the raps

Black is popular because you can sell a lot more apparel that way. You don't have to worry about buying a red or purple hat. Black goes with everything.

Around the NBA, I'd say the Spurs are known for their black uniforms. It's their colour. Even when we use it, it doesn't get associated with the Raptors. If we stick with it for 10 years or so (red and black) it could end up being our colour. I won't argue vs that.

For jeff:

The Spurs, Blazers, Heat, T-Wolves, Magic, Bulls all currently wear black either as thier main away jersey or an alternate.

The Jazz, Kings, Grizzlies and Suns have in the past.

Six teams isn't that many, a little more then i thought though. Still love our black uni's. Wish they were our only road jersey, even though i don't mind the red one.

In honor of Al Borland, I propose one of his favorite colors, Taupe!

Plaid??

Black isn't original, but it's the best color it is. What is original, FFCCFF pink tone? I prefer imitative black :D

MrClutch 01-10-2011 04:10 PM

glad to see them come back

While Al prefers to drape himself in Plaid, he suggests Taupe as a color for a variety of projects.

Yay! I love those jerseys. Also for some reason I haven't really realized that they haven't worn them this whole season xD

No, they'll be pleased it'd finally back. Based on Devin's twitter a ton of people have asked him when it's going to be back.

I don't know, manufacturing problems + that comment makes me think there might have made changes. Probably not, you're probably right.

hontoni 01-10-2011 05:25 PM

How the hell there were some manufacturing issues in a big organization like this :confused2: You design new uniforms before season starts then introduce to fans then team starts to wear it when season starts. It should be that simple. At least it is like that in Turkey :) Maybe i am wrong maybe it needs hard-work.

The entire league, plus the WNBA and some NCAA teams are using new lighter jerseys made by Adidas. Maybe there was a backlog and alternate jerseys took a back seat?

that sounds right. in fact how many alternate jersey's have you seen at all this season throughout the league? i think i saw the knicks wearing their green alternates once a few weeks ago but that's about it.
