Ok, let's assume we don't trade Douby/Banks/Ukic and we make one last signing, who would you want us to sign and what would the roatation be? Who starts at SG?

I would sign Pops for the min., and my rotation would be:

Jose/Jack/Belinelli/Ukic
Derozan/Belinelli/Jack/Douby
Turkoglu/Wright/Derozan
Bosh/Evans/Pops
Bargs/Rasho/POB

And depending on defensive matchups Wright or Belinelli can also start @ SG.

I totally & whole heartedly agree with your post!!! this should be the lineup barring and trade of Douby/Banks/Ukic!

Now that klezia is gone. I really like the idea of signing Pop. His aggressiveness, his energy would boost the players on the team to play harder. It would be a no brainer to sign this guy. Also he is a crowd favorite. Young kevin Garnett. Energy like Junk yard dog. back up for barg...ufff...

Priorities: 1) sign a decent PF --> Pops
2) if plan 1 fails, sign a decent SF that can also play some PF

BC has already stated that he would like to see DD start, but I hope that's not asking a rookie to do too much. I hope DD proves me wrong, and he turns out to be able to learn the nba game and keep the opposing SGs in check. But, if it were up to me, I'd start Wright for the first 10 games or so. The starters are good scorers, but need someone out there to plug up the perimeter. Then, once DD has begun to understand the NBA/raps plays, I'd start him against teams that have weaker SGs. If he shows he can handle it (and I don't mean he gets pulled like Smitch pulled Bargnani), then they continue playing him.

The raps need a good start. The Eastern Conference is a lot more competitive, Lewis has been suspended for 10 games, the team is made up of new players who need to win together, and most importantly, the team just had a horrible season. If the raps can keep pace with the elite in the conference, they'll set themselves up nicely for a run in the playoffs.

Can't argue with that line up.
And damn the bench is looking great, best bench I can remember we've had.

thats nice, but depth charts don't mean anything when it comes to an actual rotation

you can fill in wright to back-up turk, but if derozan is starting, he'll most likely be the first off the bench.

hopefully triano doesn't follow a strict guideline to his rotation, but i could see it looking like this

calderon
derozan
turk
bosh
bargs

1st sub -wright
2nd sub - rasho
3rd sub - jack
4th sub - beli
5th sub - evans

Joey's not getting major minutes. For a guy that can play the 3 and 4, he's a better option than Pops for 8-10 minutes , if that, a night.

Joey G has had his shot, Well it was a long one at that he has showed us many flashes on inconsistency. It's time that the Raptors finally end this relationship with Joey. He's like the old girl friend you never had the heart to dump.

Cheers

NO to joey
YES! to Pops!

i think right now BC isn't in a rush to fill the last spot because basically its between getting the smaller delfino or the big man Pops, either of them will come here so BC knows those 2 possibilities already
BC is probably leaving it open if he finds a rare gem somewhere he can sign him, leaving a spot open also allows him flexibility in making further trades if a good one comes up as we can take in a 2 for 1 or help someone sign a player and trade him
and he can also leave the spot open for a potential player in training camp or a reject from someone else's training camp
basically he's keeping his options open till he really has to sign Pops or delfino

Last time I checked Delfino was out of the picutre. MLSE doesn't want to put the money forward , we picked up Marco and now are being cheap. Which makes sense considering limited minutes we have to play with.

Cheers

The Belinelli trade ruled out any possibility of the Raps signing Delfino. We're looking at acquiring a guy that can play spot minutes at the 3/4 now which is why guys like Kleiza (was), Joey, and Pops are in the conversation.

If we were just looking for a guy to dress as the 3rd power forward Pops would be my choice. We need a guy that can play the three as well though, and all the power to Pops for working on his three game, but Joey is the better combo option.

I'd look for a smarter player than Pops. Someone like Powe, unless the injury is severe and would limit his abilities.

We, ideally, could use a defensive combo-forward, capable of playing either 3 or 4, defending and rebounding.

And I'd start Wright and bring DD off the bench at both wing positions, allowing him time to grow into the life of an NBA player.

James Singleton?

How does this rotation look:

PG: Calderon - 29.2 min; Jack - 14.8 min; Ukic - 4.2 min; Banks - 0.8
SG: Wright - 17.6 min; Derozan - 13.8 min; Belinelli - 12.7 min; Douby - 3.9 min
SF: Turkoglu - 35.6 min; Singleton - 10.5 min; Wright - 2.9 min
PF: Bosh - 36.2 min; Evans - 8.4 min; Singleton - 3.4 min
C - Bargnani - 33.4 min; Nesterovic - 13.2 min; O'Bryant 1.8 min
