Default We traded our 1st round pick for a head case ?

Did we trade a future first rounder for a head case ? We all know that Jose Calderon is presently our best PG with alot of class but we now have Lowry....is he going to be a head case.

"As well, Lowry has had injury issues including a torn ACL early in his career and has an edge. He was charged with battery after being accused of throwing a ball at a female referee during the lockout. Lowry apologized, received 100 hours of community service and impulse-control counseling.
However, for years the Raptors have lacked extremely competitive, hard-nosed players and that’s a major reason why they haven’t had much success.

Unless Dragic says he’s not coming back, Lowry’s likely moving somewhere. Would he be OK with supplanting Jose Calderon as starter in Toronto if Calderon is still seeing considerable time, some of it in the same backcourt as Lowry? Who knows.

What we do know is he is not interested in splitting time with Dragic.

“We’re both capable starters. We both want it. It’s going to have to be a situation where they make a decision on one of us.
“It has nothing to do with Goran. I’m not happy with the way coaches handled things. If management wants to do something to keep Goran, I think I’ll have to be moved,” Lowry told Feigen.

I think I’m still a foundation guy. You can build around me. If I’m not here, that’s welcomed. If I’m here, I guess that’s welcome, too.”

Interesting stuff indeed."

Cant wait for Lowry to tell Bargs and Derozen that I am the foundation guyl lol We just got another cancer on our team. Whats with us always picking up pg's that teams just don't want to keep.
We are ok with Calderon and Bayless..... what we need is a legit center and legit small forward.

Well neither Bargnani or Derozan have stepped up to be the foundation guy so it's about time.

Not wanted in houston? Yeah, that's why he was a huge fan favourite. Take a look at their message boards. Sometimes I think you watch absolutely no basketball other than zeroing in on your boyfriend.

Im just reading everything he's saying with a Charles Barkley voice.

"Well Kenny, Jose Calderon is THE best point guard in the NBA, period. He pass well, he shoot well, penetration not really his thing but he could do it if he want to."

On topic though, Kyle Lowry is a lot better than Jose.

Absolutely Lowry should, especially when his play backs it up. Neither Bargnani or Derozan have the stones to be the lead dog. All mumbles and stumbles, definitely.
At least Lowry has some swagger. I want a team that goes into games with a " We're here to beat you " attitude, not a " If we play well, we have a chance" attitude. Not a we could team, a we will team. He's more likely to be a growth hormone.

Technically, Houston would likely have wanted to keep him. But he wanted out - coach and him didn't get along. Team decided to stick with the coach.

It's not like they just moved him because they didn't want him.

And you know this because...? If I were to guess his conflict didn't stop with the coach but extended to anyone in authority. His disrespect of female authority plus how he handled himself with Mchale on the court was quite disrespectful. Technically it's just my opinion but 2 things are clear, Lowry has a lot of talent and he has major attitude. It will be interesting to see how he handles himself with DC cause DC has shown he will not put up with that (as Mchale showed - hence why I'm going to find this interesting).

Maybe he meant back-up and forgot about JV. I think the team is pretty set for the moment at the 5. SF though, certainly nailed that one.

We have a player who can actually break down the opposing D, can rebound quite well and quite well for his position + size, a player who is a solid defender, he gets to the line, gets teammates involved and lastly can get to the line too. I think Lowry is by far the raps best player right now.
