He probably just wants an opinion that expresses that he's OK to play sooner than our Doc says. He just seems like that. Wants to play as quick as possible.

Hopefully Fields is seriously injured

Lowry will stay if the team starts winning. Bosh had a choice, do I play and piggyback Andrea and Jose for the next 4 or 5 years, or do I play with Lebron and Wade. He made the right choice:

"@WolstatSun: @PWeir1 The Raptor records? Bad management mostly. Worst was pre-BC, but he didn't build around Bosh right way and stuck with AB too long"

That's actually pretty plausible.

Maybe Landry is in NYC to buy his old couch back. It worked for Lin and Fields on the Knicks. At this point he needs any sort of help.

Well..... all I can say is thank God for Jose.

Guy has taken his share of flak here but he's been doing serious work for us to ensure that there's not much drop off at that PG spot.

Yeah.

I, like I assume most others on here, love the guy but just not as a starter. He'll give his all for the team though and do whatever's asked for him. He is probably the best backup pg in the league to have. He will have moments as a spot starter (like yesterday) but he's best not used as a starter.

I think he's the ideal backup PG because he minimizes risks (and thus turnovers) with his conservative ball handling and decision-making. I think it's best to have a bench that is not erratic. Now, I'm not saying I want my starting PG to be out of control and be a turnover machine. I want the starting PG to take some risks, to be able to break down opposing defenses, to be a playmaker for himself and others, etc.

Uh-oh. Does someone who is just about to return go to another city for a 2nd opinion? He's not even close to returning.

All I know is that he went down like he was shot...so the original five day thing was clearly bogus.

Looking at the replay, I didn't see that he stepped or landed on someone's foot. It looked like he hit a wet spot on the floor and his ankle rolled over really quickly. It didn't look good to me then. I've had sprains that were micro-fractures, and if you don't let them heal then they swell up a lot and it doesn't matter how many squats and calf raises you do to make your legs stronger, they'll always swell and be weak. Going to a specialist for a second opinion is probably because it isn't healing and they need to see what's going on more closely.
I'd bet he's probably shut down for the rest of the month. Have him back at a hundred instead of 50-80% and he's taking nights off. Plus, if he isn't resigning here, no need for him to go all Grant Hill. Why should he sacrifice his next contract for a bottom feeder north of the border?

What's interesting to me, at least, is that it's usually not recommended to get on the plane with the ankle sprain - something about the pressure drop or differential or some such.

Agreed. In an ideal world Lowry would sign with us and Jose would take a paycut and come back as our PG off the bench....

But somehow I doubt we'll get that lucky.

At least this should really help his trade value.

I have a really bad feeling bad news is coming tomorrow. We're cursed.

But if Lowry is back next game, we will make the playoffs. Mark it down.

a couple of days ago, on espn they said he will have an MRI - it can't possibly be something really bad, it really looked like a sprain. I guess it's possible to break/tear something by stepping on somebody's foot, but I think that's fairly unlikely.

it may actually be a blessing in disguise if he misses a few more games, it gets more PT for Ross and Jose and they may gain confidence for later. I'd say it's a lot more critical to fix Bargnani than to get Lowry back right now ...

I had a very similar injury .... doctors first called it a bad strain ... after 2 weeks they then determine it was a bad tear. Then 3.5 weeks in a cast and then 3 weeks of physio .. Not fun.
