Lowry to the Knicks gaining heat again?

Knicks Again Interested In Kyle Lowry - RealGM Wiretap

wonder what they are going to offer this time, or better yet what :mu: will be asking for Lowry.

Honestly there is nothing i really want from the Knicks, especially if it means losing Lowry.

Maybe a three team deal with Denver involved, NYK get Lowry + Filler, we get Faried/Miller + pick, Denver gets Shumpert, Udrih, TH? Something along those lines?

:mu:

If the Knicks are offering Tim Hardaway Jr. and the 2018 1st rounder as part of their package then I'm listening. Otherwise, hang up.

2018 IMO is not worth trading for, especially if we are looking to become a contender soon then later. We need picks now, not in 4 year.

By 2016 when we want to be contending we'd have 2016 x2/2017/2018 x2 to move in any posssible moves to hopefully get a big name player here. At the very least it gives us options. That being said, it's not sexy. :mu:

First round picks are valuable assets, period. Could be used as the trade chip that helps us land a star sooner rather than later(see Harden deal). Or, who knows, if we hang on to it, the Knicks could be lottery bound down the road, and we find ourselves with a luxurious top pick, much like Denver this year.

You would be a perfect GM for the Knicks

Aww come on! we're 21-12 since the trade. Let's not make our team worse. It would be so deflating seeing Kyle traded for picks and some prospects right now. Not even talking about only me, talking more about the players that are currently here.

moremilk 02-12-2014 12:00 AM

first round picks are valuable, but the farther away the less valuable they become.
Especially with a team like the knicks, who knows how good/bad they'll be in 4 years.
Since we're not tanking anymore, the only way I do that trade is if the pick is fully unprotected, otherwise it's not worth it.

jeffb 02-12-2014 12:01 AM

Haahhh! Can you imagine how deflated Derozan would be. Fifth season, finally on his way to the playoffs and we trade Lowry for a pick, shit PG and another wing player (Shump or TH?). :haha:

Raptor4Life 02-12-2014 02:44 AM

Raptors receive: Felton, Artest, 2018 NYK unprotected 1st round pick, 2014 NYK 1st round pick via Denver.
Knicks receive: Lowry
Nuggets receive: Shumpert, Udrih

Massai would push for Hardaway as well, which would be too hard to pass up. Denver has shown interest in Shumpert as well and maybe more likely to flip the pick knowing NYK is acquiring Lowry, which will likely diminish the value of the pick somewhat. Pick is roughly 9th as is.

You can't trade your best player to a team in your division when you're 3rd in the conference. When was the last time the Raptors were 3rd in the East at the all star break? Even in a weak year

pretty sure 06/07

Rompeprop 02-12-2014 04:19 AM

OK, Raptors trade Lowry and some dead weight for THj+some expirings+1rd pick(s)... and in offseason Lowry signs 3y/30mln contract with Raptors. Great scenario isn't it ? :D

KoolAid 02-12-2014 08:19 AM

Yeah that's my issue with this trade. Even if Masai deems the value sufficient, trading Lowry would make this team lack direction. We'd be right in the middle of no man's land.

The reality is, we are already there. 3rd in the East doesn't mean much when you are barely over .500. This team has to go on quite a tear for the rest of the season to end up with a record worth building on, and based on their recent play (against some pretty subpar competition) I don't see it happening.

JoeyJoJo Shabbadu 02-12-2014 10:50 AM

No matter what we get, if Raymond Felton is even mentioned as being a Raptor, I'm quitting this team.
