So what decent player doesn't want to see themselves as a starter?

What playoff team needs a starting point guard so much that Vasquez would be an upgrade over their current line-up?

There is a huge difference if a player accepts the role to come off the bench and be a backup or being put in a situation where he HAS to accept that.
When he was traded it was clear that he is going to come off the bench, but by choice? I don't see him willing to come back as a backup.
And why would you limit his market only to playoff teams?
Just from the top of my head I can see DET and MIL in the mix which will allow them to move Jennings and Knight to SG; where they really should play.

He's accepted the role because, a- he admits that Kyle is a true #1 PG, and b- he's playing an important role on a winning team.

After the success of the Raptors this year, if Vasquez is so foolish to consider that starting in MIL or DET would be better that being Kyle's back-up here, or any other non-playoff team, then you fail to understand that having "starter" attached to your name counts for lot's less than having "winner" attached to your name. He's delirious that he got traded from the "non-playoff" SAC and NO teams and landed here.

And you know that based on what exactly? So he will prefer to come off the bench for the Raptors even though he might be offered to be a starter somewhere?
He might be happy here but lets not forget this is his final year. He was traded, no one asks you when your team included you in a trade.
I don't fail to understand, it's you that put it out there like it's a fact that he is better off here than any other place. This shit is totally biased. When did you become his agent?
You don't even know what kind of interest he will draw in the summer.

So you are saying GV is better off here regardless without even knowing what kind of interest he will get during the summer. How can you make such bold statement? It's a business, and he will be stupid not hear what teams may offer him. If you think him or his agent will give you a discount because he "likes it here or because it's a fit" you are delusional.
Is it a good fit for him? Yeah, does it mean he's gonna be our backup PG next year? Time will tell. At his age, this is his time to redeem himself in terms of $$$.
He is a RFA and this is his current contract. If a team wants to bring him as a starter he will get paid as a starter. It's a business, not NBA 2K14

I give a credit to Thibs system more than anything else, IMO Vasquez is easily better than Augustine or Hinrich

DJ has had a better year with Chicago than GV has with the Raps. However GV can play some off ball/SG which provides interesting options.

Agreed. I can see a few teams that might be interested in him in order to try and rectify their current situation. It's gonna be up to the Raps to match it or not.

I think if you would make GV a starter in Chicago and let him learn the ropes, we would all be drooling how good Vasquez is (not saying he actually is)
Thibodeau and Pop know how to make their players look much better than they actually are.

I didn't really say that, but I agree somewhat. I think atm he would make Chi better. But obviously there can't be any trades now, so it's just hypothetical thought.
I do think we have a pretty good chance to re-sign Vasquez in the FA. Of course that will depend on the draft and other signings from all of the teams, it's too tricky to predict it now. Also we should keep in mind that MU is likely going to try and keep the capspace flexiblle for 2015 FA

Realistically we go after Lowry but if he leaves GV becomes our plan B.
I don't see us bringing back both of them for multiple reasons, and also due to our cap.

vasquez is not a fa as far as I know, so he will be back. given his low salary, it will be very hard to trade him (at fair value obviously), maybe if we can somehow pair him with fields, but I'm not sure we need to shed fields this summer, unless we're planning some big free agency move.
