Default Lowry has the Ford Syndrome

So I noticed something last time. I was at the game, and it felt like a deja-vu
Remember when TJ went down and Jose became the starter? TJ looked like he is playing with no passion whatsoeve when he came back. I remember how people said that he cannot come off the bench, he wants to be the starter and all. Lowry, more and more looks like that. When he comes off the bench, it looks like he plays without the energy he had before he went down. Although he is doing ok, I hate to see a player like him, plays this way. When he was a starter he tried to do too much, when he is backup he does not play with the same mojo. I think it's clear that we need a PG after this season. I don't see Jose coming back, thanks to BC, and I don't see Lowry as our PG of the future. If anything, I think it will be a good idea to trade KL with Bargs, in order to get something in return. If BC is planning to trade Ross and some players for Gay it will be a disaster. Ross can give us D that we were lacking for a long time, and down the line I feel he can be a great player.

He has a bad foot. Before the problem was not trying to do too much, it was not being able to do what he thought he could because he was always off balance. Now he's playing conservatively as a backup while the foot hopefully heals. If anything he has Jose syndrome. I would have no problem seeing both these guys remain here. Whoever is 100 percent starts. There will be a time for passion even with the bad foot. That time would not be against the Bobcats with a double-digit lead.

Calderon wasn't doing much off the bench either. Especially thje last two weeks leading up to Lowry going down. It os what it is, both play better as starters.

If I play a GM I think I keep Jose and hope we can draft a PG.
If not Jose I can see BC trying to bring a PG like Sessions here, which isn't gonna be better.

the organization is making the right decision business wise. start and raise jose's value...then trade his ass.

lowry will be starting after the trade deadline. i wouldn't be surprised if his agent has told him the same thing.

I have a feeling the same. Lowry is clearly the better PG talent wise, i don't even think it's that close. He brings more to the table all around and if they were going to trade him they'd be playing him 30mpg. I don't think you can go the rest of the season this way, splitting minutes most nights. It's simply not a good situation and was never going to be.

If they win it's a great situation. But keeping both would entail Jose taking the backup role primarily. If he can accept the role he can excel with the role. But it would take a good deal of winning for it to be reasonable for him to take the back seat.

Are we going back to the "pray that we land Andrew Wiggins" thing again then?

As much as I like Lowry I don't see him running our offense well.
There was a reason why since he joined the league he never made it to be a legit starter.
Hell yeah, he can be a starter, He is a scorer, great 1 on 1 defender but he doesn't know how to pass the ball like elite point guards do.

I think your just seeing Lowery trying to play within the team. Remember he was called out by his teammates for being too selfish, then they start winning without him. He comes back and he's trying to fit the type of play that was winning us games, which I believe shows he's the exact opposite of Ford. I hope if Calderon gets traded he continues to play with this mentallity, I think we'll see something special if he does.

Huh?

He's been avging about 6 assts/gm in less than 24 min/gm.

If you've already given up on Lowry then there's no point in wishing for a rookie PG in the draft... because his learning curve is going to be A LOT steeper than Lowry's and it's going to take him YEARS (not months) to get to an elite level (IF he ever does).

I'd have been curious to know what your opinion of Jose was when he was limping around with his blown hammy looking horrible.

Doesn't know how to pass the ball? Good lord...

Trade Calderon, give Lowry 33mpg the rest of the season and see what happens with a defined starting role. He was passing just fine to start the season and when he came from injury a couple weeks ago his first 3 games back he was averaging 11pts/8asts off the bench and is currently averaging 12/6.5 off the bench. And he's not even being aggressive.

To say he doesn't pass the ball well is a crock of shit. And it amazes me the bipolar bullshit that happens with this fanbase.

Well said.

Some people aren't happy with KL (and possibly/probably with Jose too) and Jose is going to leave. But hey, KL isn't that great let's DRAFT a pg or find some other pg :cookie:

I think both players are decent PGs, I know you don't like Jose though, so it's not worth to even explaining. But for you I pulled out some stats; Last year Lowry in Houston averaged 2.77 turnovers a game and 6.6 APG in 32.1 min of action. Jose is averaging 1.72 turnovers a game and 7.8 APG in 28.4 min of action, which clearly shows he is the better passer. You can't see one is better than the other, but I still say, Lowry is not a good passer at times.
If you were to look into my post you will see that this is not a case of bipolar, but there is a reason why we win when Jose is a starter. Your hate to Jose and Bargs is well known to all.

We do? After 8 years of watching him.....how much have we won? And how come we weren't winning early in the season when he was starting? Us winning more in the last month has to do with a lot more than just Jose Calderon.

Another year another pg drama

Tj or Jose
JJ or Jose
Bayless or jose
Lowry or Jose

I love Jose, but us cashing his expiring is inevitable
And I truly can't wait for this pg drama to be done and over with once and for all

We can only hope. But with this fucked up team, we'll re-sign pylon and live to regret it and want him gone all over again, then love him before cursing him out again. It'll never end. It's like groundhogs day. This is the Toronto Raptors afterall.
