how's nash going to make someone better - especially bigs - for the rest of their career if he only plays 2 more years?

2-3 years is a lot, especially if you're a young player. If you're new to the league playing with Nash for a few years, the effects would be unparalleled.

There are a number of players that would disagree with you there. Martin would be leading that list.

But we don't want inflated stats. We want wins

Weirdly Lowry has WS/48 a notch higher. And his DRTG seems better as well

We'd be very lucky if Nash played three years here. He'll sign a one or two year deal, and then retire.

No way that happens. He's made it clear that he wants a 3yr deal.

I doubt he'll last 3 more years. He'd be in his early 40's.

I have decided that anyone who cannot see the value of having a guy like Nash on your team for a few years when you have such a young team...is a straight up lunatic, or dumb.

I'm certain everyone here understands though. Right?

Yeah, but I'm sure people would want a PG that could grow with the team and is actually a decent defender and rebounder.

Agreed, i don't think anyone doesn't see the benifits. Doesn't mean they're not allowed to maybe prefer an alternative option.

Obviously there is a benefit, no one is arguing that. It's just do you really want to blow our cap on a guy 13 years Lowry's senior? Lowry would be beneficial long term. Nash is a stop gap, and a money grab for BC and the gang.

that's the common misconception about good point guards, that they make players better

they don't, how they can possibly do that?
what they do is make players look better, which is quite a different thing

I don't see that much value, we have casey who seems a very strong leader and appears to have the ability to keep players focused, including bargnani.

obviously we could use nash, he'd be a great addition. It all depends on the tradeoffs we'd have to make for that purpose.

I'd rather have Lowry then Calderon next season, that's all I'm saying.
