Me saying Lin is better than Lowry is based off of my personal opinion but the reason I say that is because Lin is better with the ball in his hands and while he has turn over issues, he was getting his first significant playing time. By the same token he has to prove he can sustain it over a longer period of time. Jmo, but I like Lin's ceiling more than I do lowry's. And that's not really a knock on Kyle, I just like Lin a bit more because of his ability to create which is something that's not a big part of kyle's game.

And no we were not a play off team before he got hurt. As a matter of fact Kyle started off the year really strong, but came back down to earth later in the year. We were struggling before he went out and in his absence when Dragic took over we made a surge. The team played much better with Dragic at point. When Lowry came back we struggled to find that same spark. Our chemistry was off. I think Lowry thought he should be the starter again, but watching the games it was painfully obvious that Dragic had the team playing at a higher level.

Before Lowry made the comments about Mchale during the off season there were plenty of fans ready to move on with Dragic as the future pg. I believe the team felt the same way since they tried to re-sign Dragic.

I was praying we wouldn't overpay to get Lin. I hope he pans out for you guys, it would make the Knicks looks stupid which is never a bad thing.

Yeah, finally a PG that can defend his position, can't wait to see him play.

Just a personal observation of Kyle Lowry.

He is a really good player. He can compete with the best pg's in the league on any given night. Not an elite player, but he is really good. Has a knack for hitting buzzer beaters, but not necessarily buzzer beaters to win games. More like shot clock, halftime type shots. He has become a good three point shooter. He can dribble to get a mid range shot....sometimes.

My biggest problem with Lowry was that he was kind of whiny on the court. Constantly at the refs, barking about calls. I felt like at times he killed team momentum because he'd be complaining so much.

I thought Dragic was a better player and I think Lin is a better player, but I think Lowry is really good in his own right. You guys got a good player. Don't know if he is a difference maker, but he will definitely play hard every game. That is a guarantee.

Anyways, just thought I'd share my perspective.
I could be wrong here but wasn't Lowry moved because of his beef with the coach? It didn't seem to be performance related? but i could be wrong...

Lin was brought in to replace the sales that the franchise lost when Yao retired, I don't think you can say Lin is better than anyone with such a small sample size. Keep in mind 3 teams waived the kid, at this point I wouldn't even say he's an upgrade on Dragic until he plays a few games with his new teammates. There's a striking difference between NYK's roster last year and the Rockets roster now...

Pretty sure the beef came from him losing his starting spot, but don't trust me on it.
Lowry has just as much support here as he did in Houston if not more, so he should be able to perform well. Plus he has a good relationship with a lot of people on the staff already .

Lowry was likely on his way out regardless of the comments. His name was being brought up in trade rumors long before the Mchale comments. I think his comments were based on the fact that he was no longer seen as the untouchable starting pg for us. Dragic came in, outperformed him and when Kyle came back he was coming off the bench and not seeing as much playing time.

The rockets wanted Dragic back. They saw him as the starting pg towards the end of last season.

My opinion of Lin is based strictly off of my opinion. When we cut Lin last time there were a few fans that didn't like it. He showed he was capable in his short time with us. Didn't know he'd be as good for NY as he was, but had it not been for Lowry, Dragic, and the guaranteed contract of Johnny Flynn Lin would have made the team. No his teammates aren't the same in Houston as they were in NY, but it's not like Lin was doing a majority of his damage with Carmelo and Amare on the floor with him. He was the spark for that team at that time.

But anyways, I could be complete wrong. It's happened before. It's just one person's opinion and only time will tell.

But back to Lowry...I think he's going to do a lot for you guys' team.

I think it also possibly was a result of Lowry being considered a buzz kill of sorts. Rockets were rolling pretty good until we tried to get him back into the line up.

I'm not sure what it was because it's not like he sucked when he came back. It just didn't feel the same and I think there was tension behind closed doors. Lowry may have felt like he was still a starter, but the headcoach probably didn't.

I mean I don't blame McHale. There were only a few gamrs left and I guess they really wanted a better look at Dragic and preserve Lowry than having him rush back. There really was no point in playing Lowry again as it would have taken a while for him to get back to a high level and they were out of the playoff hunt.(?)

Hopefully it was just Lowry's competitve nature that got the best of him and that he's not a headcase of some sort.
