Replace val w/ Ross + DD and I'm cool. Could add a Davis for KD35 swap too

If Drummond had been drafted I would have liked them to trade away Drummond instead.

Drummond/JC/Kleiza for Harden.

there is NO way I would trade JV for harden. This has got to be a proposal originating in OKC, it makes no sense for us. Harden is barely an all star level wanting to be paid the max and the jury is still on whether he can carry a team, his defense is suspect and let's face it, with or without him, we're not that much changed.

I'd rather have derozan + JV even this season, than just harden. 3 years from now, this would be laughed out loud.

I think this may be referring to talks around the time of the draft...

you're out to lunch, JV is probably the best center prospect in the whole league (depending whether you consider Davis a center - because he's not imo). Everything I've seen so far is very encouraging, at the very LEAST, JV will be a 15/10/2 in as little as 2-3 years, at best he's a 20/12/2.5 beast.

Harden on the other hand, what exactly do we have there? He's an excelent shot creator without a defined position, he can't really defend the best 2s or the best 1s and was never asked to do too much outside creating and scoring. He's a very good player, but he's unproven as an elite guy.

I wouldn't trade JV for anything short of a proven superstar - and yes, that's overrating JV, but when did you see an elite prospect traded for anything less than that? The beauty with a player like JV is not only that he's going to be a stud, but you're going to get him for a massive 4 year at a bargain salary, which is a huge advantage in today's NBA.

that wasn't my understanding, if so though, it would have been just OKC trying to assess the trade value. I would definitely go drummond + wildcard for Harden, but I would still not go JV + filler. Drummond has bigger potential, but he'll take his time getting there, JV will contribute starter quality minutes as early as late this season for a end of the bench salary. Plus he has a better chance to reach his potential - drummond is more of an unknown.

Lowry, Harden would be one of the best back courts in the NBA imo.

I could live with this lineup, then look to get a Center next summer (including Aldrich since he was a throw in w/Houston):

Lowry/Lucas
Harden/Ross
Derozan/Anderson/Kleiza
Bargnani/Davis/Acy
Amir/Gray/Aldrich
That's a nice lineup but still not trading a young stud Center for a guy who was down right terrible in the finals. Harden is a good player, but I still wouldn't take that gamble.

Because we knew Oklahoma was gonna trad Harden?

This would only make sense,if the Raptors would then package DeRozan,Ross,Davis or Amir and a 2nd round pick for Gay/Haddadi

Then they'd have RG/LK at SF and JH/LF at SG....they'd be weak at C though.

Keeping Valancuinas for now is the right thing.

OKC would have been pretty damn good if that trade would have gone through (IMO).

Jose would give them a REAL pass-first PG, letting Westbrook move to the 2... and Ibaka & Val would be a nasty frontcourt pairing. They could afford to Perkins go too without missing too much.
