Loudest Crowd in the T.Dot?

Hey gang,

On the weekend I went to a Jays game. Sat in the 500's. Missed the years when we packed in over 50thousand. crowd was okay. tried starting the wave a couple of times but nothing really materialized. i also caught the friendly game with FC gaming killed and the crowd was really really noisy. the saturday before that I witnessed the return of Bishop against the Argos. The crowd again was medium at best. the last game I attented for the Leafs was in dec 2008(damn prices are so high) and that was super silent!...I think the loudest crowd supporting their team is:
1. FC
2. Raptors
3. Rock
4. Jays
5. Argos
6. leafs

What do you guys think/ my buddies insist its the Raptors- but I have to admit, I'm a huge fan, it has died down a little bit last year!

I would have to say yes. Not that i've gone to Argo games, but Leaf games are a massive snoozefest. Even in the playoffs, i remember when we played Buffalo in the Conference finals (1999), and the Buffalo broadcasters were stunned at how quiet the Leafs crowd was for the Conference finals in the supposed Hockey capital?? They laughed at the Seinfeld & Law & Order theme songs being played between plays. And i must say that i was a massive leaf fan at the time and i had to agree.

not top be an picky jackass, but it's TFC.

and for me TFC at BMO is the most intense, best live sporting experience in the city. The Raptors are easily number 2 though.

I have to agree. I can't stand soccer, but it looks like an amazing atmosphere. And yes, the Raptors are easily right behind them.

Is it just me, or is this list just stating the teams the are doing well, and teams that are not. I'm sure Leafs nation would be crazy loud if they had something to cheer for. Same goes for the Argos and the Jays. FC and the Raps are up there because they do not "suck" at their sport. Thats why the fans cheer them on. Because they are winning teams. And thats why Leafs games are quiet as hell. Just my opinion of course.

Even when the Leafs were winning (1998-2003) the crowd was pretty dead, even in the playoffs.

Also imo, the leafs crowds were alot better at Maple Leaf Gardens. I think that the ACC is better for basketball then Hockey as far as the atmosphere goes.

imo, the noise of a crowd is inversely proportional to the percetage of corporately owned seats and boxes.

This thread is giving me the chance to get something off my chest thats been bugging me for some time.

Raptors fans for the most part @ the ACC suck! I, like most of the people on this forum, am a HUGE Raps fan. I've been to several games over the years and my experience has been that fans in attendance are generally subdued. They only get excited and cheer on the team in stretches and even then it's not like the crowd is bringing the house down.

When I go to a game it would be nice to see other fans acting a fool and cheering on the team for every possession-not just when their winning. Fans shouldn't underestimate the effect they could have on the team trying to climb out of a hole and get back into a game. When I'm supporting the team at the top of my lungs and am encouraging other fans to do the same i usually get a look.

Fans @ the ACC are wack when compared to other arenas I've seen NBA games(Arco Arena-mad crazy, Phoenix-amazing atmosphere, The Q-crazy,crazy,crazy).

It's not like T Dot fans aren't capable of acting a fool...TFC home games...nuff said!

C'mon Raps fans let's bring some energy this season and be the team's 6th man!

I know what you mean Golden States for example and other teams cheer wildly when other teams make comeback runs. But the Raptors playoff crowds are amazing.

No doubt Febreezy that when Raptors fans choose to be, they can be among the best fans in the NBA!

The problem is when they choose to get all hyped up is far and few between. Raps fans need to wild out every game, not just during the playoffs or when VC comes to town! Even in that clip from game 1 you can see that there are moments when the crowd is pretty dead. Messed up man! That would never happen in certain arenas-especially during the playoffs!

I can't blame the Raptors crowd this year, it was hard for me to even watch the games to be honest, but when were doing well and have a continuing string of success than the crowd is electric, even if were beating the Bobcats by 50 in garbage time. My favorite Raptors raptors crowd chant is the jose one. If you watched Raptors tv after we beat the magic in game 3 I think it was, Sherm, Jack, and the guy with the gotee were not able to talk.

Hey i understand that when the team is not doing the greatest, it makes it a little harder for the fans to be boisterous. I'm just sayin it would be nice to have fans @ the ACC be excited and cheer for the team regardless of whether the team is winning or losing.

Again in comparison to other arenas Raps fans even when hyped up dont keep it up for the whole game just moments at a time.

The jose chant IS a good one.

.... and just imagine if he product wasn't so piss poor!

I'm going to have to say that the Jays need to be last.... maybe even in a separate category. You could have a converstation with a guy 5 sections over.

Leafs games are quiet, but not like that.
